We are investigating and are finding some strange results. If you are seeing issues that appear to be related to yesterday's even, please do reply and let us know.
That said, a number of the problems being reported in this thread are not related. Keep an eye on @BungieHelp and help.bungie.net for updates.

[/b]The fix we are applying is to solve for players that can't get past the start screen to character select without hitting CENTIPEDE. This fix will not help those that are already playing and get disconnected with CENTIPEDE errors.
We have applied the fix to the majority of the reported accounts, and there is a good chance you can now play. Please test your account and reply to your post here to let us know if it worked! It is especially helpful for us to hear if our fix is allowing you to play. If you are still having problems please be patient as we apply the fix to all impacted accounts.

PSN: dolphin_man12 still receiving centipede at the main screen. can't load any of my 3 characters.

I' still have centipede error. PS4 I'd Jstplayng. Started yesterday at 5 pm cannot access main but secondary is fine.

i have tried everything i can think of and it wont even let me get to secondary toons.. but i started a new profile just to play and it lets me play right away no problems. when will this be fixed? like most i have put a lot of time into my guardians. please fix quickly if you can

I'm still not able to access the character select page due to the centipede error code. I've been running into this problem for the last half a day or so. Hope the issue isn't too major and easily fixable.

I have a level 24 titan and played yesterday afternoon from around 2 pm to 7 pm PT and intermittently got booted from the game with different errors. (Centipede and Caterpillar error codes for the most part) Around 730pm I got a legendary engram for a pair of boots on Venus which actually decrypted as a pair of legendary boots. The item pushed me to level 25 and I logged off until 10 pm or so. While I was logged off, I noticed that on the companion app, my titan was still showing as 24. I thought it was strange but didn't worry. When I logged back in, I realized all the progress was wiped for the day. Frustrated, I persevered and luckily I found another pair of legendary boots in a loot crate. Unfortunately it was for a hunter. I stashed it in my vault and logged off. Today, I have been unable to log into Destiny, but only on my account. Both of my son's accounts on the same PS4 work fine, so I know it's not a networking issue. It's now 8:30 pm on Friday and I would REALLY love to stay up and play.

I am having the same issue and just got booted with the centipede error from a strike right as we almost finished it.

I cannot see my profile on Bungie. It says that my account has not played Destiny. I also get a centipede error after selecting X to play Destiny. My character never loads. It goes through the connection process, fades to black, and then CENTIPEDE. I HAVE BEEN POSTING THIS INFORMATION FOR 24hrs!

Same thing happens to me except my progress was rolled back today. I had the disconnecting issues yesterday but eventually was able to play. Logged in today and everything was fine until I logged off for about 2 hours and when I logged back in everything that I had accomplished since yesterday was erased. I ha completely leveled my both of my primary and sub classes, bought a legendary from the vendor, leveled up my gear, completed a few strikes for my exotic bounty, and the worst is that I farmed 100 spinmetal and all of it's just gone. Please fix this because I'm already getting tired of the grind for the smallest of progress and now I don't feel like playing at all.

xbl - theShadowProxy Since the patch i can't log onto my titan without a centipede error but i can play my hunter and warlock just fine. this isn't an issue with port forwarding or my internet. my titan was the character i was doing the event on, so now i have to start over and try to hit level 3 queen's wrath reputation on another character....please fix this soon bungie.

veryvestigious psn. I get all kinds of error codes. Cattle, centipede, bee, chicken, nightingale. I can rarely connect and when I do its never for long.

I was disconnected sometimes before the hotfix but never like this.

Tried to login just now. Joined a strike search. Got about 15 minutes into it then kicked to orbit.

Then centipeded out just now.

I got further into the strike this time. At the end kicked to orbit with a bee error. Went to tower....lasted about 1 minute and kicked to orbit with bee. Then kicked to start screen with centipede. Done for the night testing for you. Hopefully more luck tomorrow.

Not sure if it makes a difference but when I hit o to get past the centipede error it also signs me out of psn without fail even though my internet is Workin fine.

How's that going? 28+ hours... Corrupt. Item. Values. Fire the NOC, retrieve the data, manually reset player status via interns.
