We are investigating and are finding some strange results. If you are seeing issues that appear to be related to yesterday's even, please do reply and let us know.
That said, a number of the problems being reported in this thread are not related. Keep an eye on @BungieHelp and help.bungie.net for updates.

[/b]The fix we are applying is to solve for players that can't get past the start screen to character select without hitting CENTIPEDE. This fix will not help those that are already playing and get disconnected with CENTIPEDE errors.
We have applied the fix to the majority of the reported accounts, and there is a good chance you can now play. Please test your account and reply to your post here to let us know if it worked! It is especially helpful for us to hear if our fix is allowing you to play. If you are still having problems please be patient as we apply the fix to all impacted accounts.

[b]UPDATE[/b] Gamertag: jmothh Platform: PS3 Went on today after noticing my app returned my character, same thing I did yesterday. Went and played with my warlock for about a hour. Then near the end of a mission I was kicked out again. Sent back to orbit. So I logged off and restarted my game... Guess what I found when I went back to the title screen and pressed X to play... Error code: centipede... So the fix worked for a little while. Keep up the work we are all hoping it's fixed soon. Patients is key.

I lost a legendary auto rifle and all the faction rep I earned. Then I got the centipede again! For two more days! I can finally log on, but, I'm not sure if I should even try to get my gear again for fear of losing it. And this isn't the first time my progress wasn't saved. I hope you have fixed this bungie. I love all you guys have done, but if this happens again, you can have you game back and send me a check for the 60 bucks o wasted. Don't get me wrong, I have faith in you, and I'm going to grind it out to get my gear back. I'm just tired of wasting my time for nothing. UPDATE: just kicked me off and won't let me log on, just keep gettig the centipede error. Thanks for nothing Bungie

I'm having issues with my game right now. I can't gety past the black loading screen not even the title screen. Any help?

So i got the Suros Rigime and had upgraded the first thing where it shoots slower and does more damage. also i had gotten my unigue legendary chest from the vault call prime zealot chest or something like that and upgraded it to where i only had 2 more upgrades left. i also had maxed out my Mask of The Third Man. and i had a level 7 female awoken titan defender class. now they are all missing today
