Well put sir. Reading the news update today was a little irritating since I've been trying to get help on the forums since yesterday and this topic hasn't been acknowledged aside from the links to the centipede help article which has nothing to do with this error which would be more appropriately named #helminth or #tapeworm.

Thank you and godspeed :D Not sure what sort of bungie magic goes into engrams but I'd bet that whatever the patch did to change item values/properties caused the supposed account/character corruption.
