The biggest problem for me was their comment, "We want your gear to have a story" (not verbatim). Yeah, sure. I can tell you about how I ran reputation bounties, grinded marks, and then BOUGHT my first legendary. That was not exciting or rewarding. I ran low level content and eventually spent enough time to get gear. For a loot game, which is what they advertised this as, this is inexcusable. Why couldn't they introduce sidegrades? I'm not expecting it to rain purple and gold, but introduce gear bonuses that change the way I play a class. The gear ladder is purely dependent on the color.

Exactly. You're either usually buying stuff, or getting engram lucky at the cryptarch. What a story I have for my gear. Them saying that just shows you how dishonest they were in marketing this thing. I liked that there was no trading, until I found out that there's nothing going on in the world where I actually get something cool as a direct reward. Bosses don't drop guns, there aren't chests next to bosses having engrams....I guess VOG has some of that but not the rest of the game. And then they give you random class armor when you do have a purple engram hit..because making you play the other classes is another 'fun' way to extend the game's playtime.

Are you talking about the Vidoc where they said "you're gonna see a guy wielding the ____ and you're gonna understand where they came from?"
