WOOT! The deed has been done. The exploit has been extinguished. I praise those of you who actually earned your gear through hard work and dedication rather than standing outside a measely cave idley shooting your gun with such little skill and effort.
This is a good day for Destiny. (At least I hope) seeing as how I have high hopes for the newer loot drop system being implemented. I hope Bungie sticks to their words and actually makes bosses more than just bullet sponges who drop you Glimmer Consumables @ 100% rates. (Ether Seeds, Blue Polyphage, Axiomatic Beads, House Banners, etc.)
Here's to hoping they now drop legitimate blues, purples, and possible Golds.
Edit: Yay, the booty hurt cave farmers have shown themselves. You shall get no high five.
Edit 2: So many lazy -blam!s- up in here mad their cave got shut down.

I just wish those of you who bashed the cave would turn your heads towards the cause. Perhaps if you all had put your energy into that and realized that is why the cave farmers did what they did, we wouldn't have needed the cave in the first place. I don't consider running the same strike on repeat skill-required, challenging, or a legit way of farming either. What's so difficult about knowing where all the enemy spawns are going to be and having the boss pattern down to a T? That's how I felt with strikes and because I have to get this magically obtained better gear to run the raid with my friends, I turned to the cave. It was the only way I could catch up, even a little bit. I guess my point is, after doing the same strike on constant repeat, it takes the same amount of skill to do that strike then it does to sit in front of a cave.

Most of you guys are like "yay the cave is patched" when most of you (including myself) have been using the cave too lol.
-
*high fives*
-
Yup they sure fixed that cave it was a 6 sec spawn now it is a 40 sec spawn now they farmers can't sit there for hours just shooting in a cave they have time for snacks too LMFAO.
-
The tears of exploiters are delicious!
-
Anyone who didn't think the cave wasn't going to get shutdown never obviously played a loot game before, and to the people who think there whining is the reason this got fixed you also have never played a loot game before. On another note there's still plenty of other spots to go and farm semi efficiently as the loot cave.

Edited by post920: 9/26/2014 12:57:09 AM
I praise those of you who actually earned your gear through hard work and dedication
Pure luck. That's all this game is. This game is a complex slot machine. The cave just gives you more money to play with. Doesn't ensure you'll get anything (I can attest to that), but gives you more chances.
I hope the Cryptarch ends up being a spy for the darkness or something. Really want to kill that asshole.
Hey just so you know, you guys just clogged one hole... there's several other "caves" already going around. Glad to see everyone's doing something productive with there time.... you've really just made a monster......

Edited by Titan Commandant: 9/25/2014 9:08:34 PMThe RNG of this game negates Any Skill. Prior to the patch you could spend an hour fighting a boss and get nothing, or an hour cave farming and get a load of gear. Now, which would be more intelligent when considering how to spend you time? the Cave wasn't the problem...its this garbage RNG which is the back bone of Destiny. You can't make a game completely random or that literally negates all skill or achievement. That's a basic law for gaming. Risk Vs Reward...well Destiny's RvR is trash. You can Couple a RNG with a RvR Model BUT the RvR MUST TAKE PRIORITY...or you have a 50 Million Dollar Cave Farming Game.

I love it when people take up a social cause that has no affect on them People shooting things in a cave did not hurt your gaming experience in the least. What a pathetic asshole
-
Your like one of those old people who don't want marijuana legal and always complain about loud music
-
Did you read the patch? Mission engrams from baddies was decreased.
-
It's whatever the game gets boring after a while just going to wait for the dlc
-
Edited by freshlydunbread: 9/26/2014 12:49:52 AMI dance in your your name over the blues and the legendary engram I'm currently staring at :)
-
i told some one who hated the cave to give me 15 reasons why it was bad and good and he never replied can you do same for me?
-
i earned all my armor throught vender now im bored as -blam!- of destiny...
-
It literally changes nothing about your experience in the game, neither does it change mine. That being said, it only came about because of the real problem, a broken ass game.
-
Guess who does work in their games? Guess who doesn't get shit or vastly lower level stuff? Answer for both: Me
-
lol your a very good troll but just because the cave is gone doesnt mean anything i cave farmed yet i earned all of my gear from faction, queens wrath, one engram i got from a strike, and crucible i only used the cave for materials and something to do while waiting for public events to occur

A virtual high five to go along with your virtual girlfriend, virtual masculinity and virtual life. Not to be offset by your real virginity. Kudos ragekid.

Edited by Chicken run: 9/26/2014 12:30:27 AMwhy you so happy? are all of you trolls?

I already had a full gear set before the cave, I only did it to pass the time while waiting for the weekly stuff to reset "usualy finished it all in the first two or three days" or to lvl up a gun quick so I could see what the ability did. It was one of the most social things to do in the game. Normally people just run past each other, but at the cave they actually worked together. There was zero negative impact for people doing this, so I don't know why you're happy/proud of yourself, I only did it like 3 or 4 times but had great fun with friends and randoms while doing it. There was no good reason to get rid of this just yet, at least not until they fixed up the loot system first. It wont impact me since I already had my gear from strikes and shit anyways, but I know a few people who will drop the game because of these recent decisions by bungie. Like it or not, the people against the cave exploit were in the vast minority in this case, so they pissed off more people then they made happy.
-
You people who are against the cave are so got damn cringe worthy. "UHH THESE GUYS ARE GETTING BETTER GEAR THEN ME WITH LESS WORK" really you people who claim it took "hard work" to earn your gear are -blam!-ing stupid its a game with RNG it took no skill to earn your loot simply pure luck. Least I know who the cancers of the game is
-
I personally never got a legendary from the cave. Only time I went there was for a quick weapon breakdown for upgrading a current weapon when I only had a short timespan before a raid. If that's exploiting then I call bull crap. Farming for materials is a legitimate aspect of this type of game. The possible legendary drop from trash at the cave I can agree is excessive. I feel the legendary and exotic lewt should be earned the blues and greens should be fare game. I did however get a legendary engram that yielded a blue from the cryptologist after all outside the cave during the event that spawns there.
-
They only nerf the cave on earth. FYI they are 3 more on other planets being farmed as we speak.
