Lol seriously. I predicted this from the beginning, before alpha. I said if you randomize drops, you are contradicting the very method you claim to pursue. You don't "earn " that which is randomly given to you.

The biggest problem for me was their comment, "We want your gear to have a story" (not verbatim). Yeah, sure. I can tell you about how I ran reputation bounties, grinded marks, and then BOUGHT my first legendary. That was not exciting or rewarding. I ran low level content and eventually spent enough time to get gear. For a loot game, which is what they advertised this as, this is inexcusable. Why couldn't they introduce sidegrades? I'm not expecting it to rain purple and gold, but introduce gear bonuses that change the way I play a class. The gear ladder is purely dependent on the color.

Trading would probably fix this game's loot problems completely

I was in 3rd place in a rumble match. I went on an 11 kill streak using my exotic shotty within a minute of game's end. I ended up winning the match and earned myself the exotic auto rifle called Hard Light. Awesome and legit, for once.
-
The only time I've seen an exotic drop in pvp was when my Hawkmoon landed in my lap. I placed 2nd with a KD of 2, and was in pursuit of my Thorn bounty. Pretty nice story for me that I'll always remember.
-
what mode was that?

destiny is a support system if you need help in something it gives you a chance to get a better weapon or gear is what im reading. honestly pvp loot i care nothing for its that raid gear is not bonded to that pacific character receiving the loot and you can farm it 3 times or more in a week with same class. this was the first thing that ruined my gaming fun in destiny 2 days ago it just hit me. i thought of it in the first week and didnt do it. but seeing people getting attention getting to lvl 30 when they used 3 accounts was heart breaking. rewarding people who cheated the system i dont even want to play my lvl 26 hunter anymore cuz of getting so butt hurt over it. and im not going to join them so ya its my own fault for not doing the something right i know. im a man of honor and i let it control my life and i let those who do the easy wrong get to me over the hard right.

Im glad they took trading away. It just causes more problems then it would solve. I would however support Diablo style loot exchange.
-
Indeed Having a random loot system and then saying you have to "earn" your loot is pretty much contradicting yourself.

https://twitter.com/GunheadCOD/status/515048852228153344 Guy went 4-20....

This one isn't mine, I saw it in a thread awhile back. http://i.imgur.com/BCxrOyy.jpg

Last night while trying to get the hand cannon headshot bounty for the queen I came in last or next to last several times. Got 2 legendaries in 2 hours during the process. Im starting to believe it pays to suck because I'm usually top 2 on my team or top 3 in rumble and I get crap for it. I haven't complained once about loot in this game because I freakin love it and I've had ok drops since lvl 20. But it sure was suspicious seeing what so many have complained about actually happen to me :/
-
That picture hurts to look at.
-
Lol went 21 and 0 in a match b4 work today. Didn't get shit. The man in last place .89 k/d? Gets the "Hard Light" Lol I'm done. I'll just play. obviously hours in this game mean nothing so f it
-
That's disgusting
-
This happens WAY too often.Sometimes I just feel like dancing in the backround for the duration of the match.Seems to raise the chances for exotics.
-
lol I have been at the bottom of pvp constantly and have never gotten more then a blue so quit crying and play the game wht has cod or bf give you for top of leader board nada but more Xp
-
To those saying it was fair since some players are not as good in PvP SHUT UP! Then they should be playing Strike missions and such and be rewarded but even in there it's all random so yeah :)
-
The loot system was straight up hating that night. >:/
-
So just what DID Bungie say about trading?
-
The loot devs must have grown up in the era of Participation Trophies; because the loot system is basically that on a massive scale.
-
I hate when I fight my ass off to get first place. Then I'm the only one who got nothing at all :(
-
C'mon gotta give the bad players some motivation too man. Don't be so harsh on them. Random drops is the only method anything is fair, as previous commenters before me already said, give the top players the best gear and you'll create a gap between the pro's with the best loot and the "bad" players with the less-awesome loot.
-
In all fairness, he does have a great story about how he got that gear that he'll want to tell everyone. "So I joined a crucible game 5 seconds before it ended. I took a shot at someone just as the timer ran out and got an assist for it. AND THEN I GOT AN EXOTIC!!!!!! WOOOOO!!!!!!" Such a great story. Sorry, I meant grating.
-
I actually think you have a better chance of getting good loot if you are bad. I have seen the person at the bottom of the board get something good far more often than any other player
