You seem like one who'd honestly answer a question. Why isn't there stickied threads in each subforum stating what is/isn't allowed there? Seems easy enough.
-
The code of conduct is what you're looking for.
-
? I meant it would help with the posts in the wrong subforums. Plenty of forums do it. Its in your face everytime you open up a subforum (say, #gaming). Not everyone reads the code of conduct, most people will read the top thread.
-
The code of conduct details exactly what is permitted. It's not something just for you to accept when joining, it really is the rule set for the site.
-
Yeah. But it's clearly not working. Why not buttress it with stickied threads? It just makes a whole lot of sense to me.
-
I don't have control over that.

Nothing like a good dose of discrimination to start your day, eh?
-
No, that's just Ktan and his persecution complex.
-
Edited by Advertiser 7: 9/23/2014 5:29:14 PMExcept it IS persecution. I have no problem with you moving the hostile and hateful threads, but the fact that y'all are moving the helpful and kind threads guiding the Destiny users to the proper forums is nothing short of ludicrous. You can move Floodian threads and hand out warnings to their makers, but you can't do the same to those spamming the forums? It'd be better to have those forums filled up with those types of threads rather than hundreds of "need people for the vault of glass" threads.
-
Oh, I'm not on his side either. He's being an idiot. Quite a few of us have noticed that only tenured users are getting their threads moved, though. I understand that trying to keep Destiny threads in #Destiny is a losing battle, due to the massive influx of new members posting threads without a solid grip on #tag use. But when we, the community, go out of our way to try to help the staff keep the forums clean, we get punished for it. I don't want to tell you guys how to do your jobs. You have a better understanding on the objectives of the staff than I ever will, but you guys have got to start letting us help. If we've been going about it the wrong way, give us a goal, or a directed approach, so that we can attempt to make your lives easier.
If we've been going about it the wrong way, give us a goal, or a directed approach, so that we can attempt to make your lives easier.
I'll try, but you may not like it. - Use the report option. Yes, I'm sure you've heard it before, but if you report topics you find objectionable, we'll be able to take a look at them. It also has the added benefit of hiding the topic. - If you feel the need to reply to one of the topics in question, politely direct them to the most appropriate category, which in my opinion is #clans. - While replying might seem the best option, it's unlikely to really accomplish anything at all. Obviously by replying you'd be keeping it at the top of the forum, but a new user probably isn't going to edit their post to move the topic anyway. - The best option, in my opinion, is just to use that particular forum category for talking about gaming. That means, not posting in non-gaming related topics (or otherwise off topic threads), but posting as you normally would there. By all means, create relevant topics, but please don't organise any sort of raid or any type of mass-spamming.
-
None of this does anything. The newfomans don't care at all. You should be doing your job, #Gaming is completely broken right now.
-
We have asked threads to be moved, to no avail. Verbotenmaschine (did I spell that right?) has reported threads that should be moved very often, but to no avail as well. We are out of peaceful methods, which drives normally level - headed users to act more like Ktan and Longface. Our frustration is building. I hope you can understand the reasons for our irritation are not just based on elitism. I am new here, joined because of Destiny, but this has gone too far. Please address this as soon as possible. I'm not just speaking to you, but to other ninjas, moderators, and DeeJ as well.
-
There needs to be better report options then.
-
In short if we reported every destiny post in the wrong place, would that be alright?
-
1. Not going to report a topic just so you guys can see it, even though you could see it if you just clicked on the front page of whatever forum its on. This is as ineffective as trying to mute people like Cena and Rose; it doesn't do shit because they have dozens of accounts. 2. That's what I've been trying to do; but its hard to solo an entire freaking forum. 3. Yes it does, and yes they do. Every time I corrected a user and told them where to move it, they did exactly that; move it. 4. If you're referring to Blonic's "raid," that was an attempt to do what you encouraged in the very same paragraph. Its not like we banded together and spammed meatspin.
-
Thank you. I'm not so disillusioned to think that you guys don't care about the state of the forums. It can't be easy dealing with thousands of new posters. I'll start spreading this around. Knowing the nature of #offtopic, I'm not so sure that they'll take objective criticism well, but it's in everyone's best interest if we're on the same team as the people writing the rules.
-
I don't think antagonizing an already bad problem will help it, Daz.
-
The only real problem here are the self-righteous and self-proclaimed "old users" who go out of their way to insult and push back against new members on a video game developer's website, where the company has just released a game played by millions of people and who want to interact with its community. I'm sorry, but we can't allow that kind of uninviting attitude.
-
Daz, you're not even big.
-
That's not what your mother said.
-
My mom's dead :'( Why would you say such a thing.
