It's illegal if they do start one. They can't sell the game then introduce mandatory sub fee. 9/10 1.4b part was a little over kill

I wont be. If I wanted a $60 game that I had to buy subscription for I would just get elder scrolls. Who said there was only going to be 3DLC? The season pass was only for a couple but that doesn't mean there wont be Moore (which I also wont buy)

They're on a good start. 2) That's not confirmed (to my knowledge), and isn't relevant. 3) Whoever told you that is a bold faced liar; the game didn't even cost 1/5 of that number according to reports I've seen (which admittedly aren't necessarily reliable, but if Activision would give Bungie 500 million for four games, why the -blam!- would one cost 1.4 billion?) This isn't a possibility. Or at least, an extremely unlikely one.

Horrible reviews and bad feedback from community just 2 weeks in, they can't afford any more negativity or they'll never breakeven 3.) They'll supplement the difference in money lost via some form of mico-DLC cause Activision loves that shit (Engram packs calling it now) 4.) (Similar to #1) It is a hard disk game and not a download from PS Plus or MS Store, like others said there would be a lawsuit pressed if $60 was charged for the game then more charged later on for access to it's contents especially when it's an online exclusive game and offers no off-line support... 5. They aren't going to start charging a fee, the game was advertised as a one time purchase free to play game with no subscription fee, if they all of a sudden started charging for a game that is supposed to be subscription free the community would file a large joint lawsuit against Activision for false advertisement.

1.4bn? Yen maybe. No publisher will ever try to change a non subscription based game into a subscription based games. Especially when thre customers are already having to pay a subscription service to either PSN or XBL in order to get full content.

6 RepliesYour facts are totally wrong. 1. It will probably be a 2-3 year game until Destiny 2 comes out. It is totally capable of supporting itself. 2. Why does the DLC matter? There is going to be free content coming consistently (all the hidden areas that haven't been opened for raids and strikes). 3. It is estimated to cost 500 million for the whole 10 years (4 games). It is nowhere near 1.4 billion and day 1 sales were at 500 million (already at a profit for the whole series).

You can't actually believe that. You mentioned activisions investor conference call. So I'd assume you know the basics of economics. If they have made only 1/4 of what was invested in the game the demand isn't what they expected. So what makes you think there would be consumers even months from now willing to pay a monthly subscription for a game they already paid full price for? They can sure try and institute a monthly fee but the demand obviously wouldn't be there to meet supply which means it would be pointless.
