As much as I do like the game, for the gameplay, I'm disappointed in you Bungie, as a long lasting Halo player since the initial release of Halo: Combat Evolved, I can't bring myself to believe you created a game so repetitive, with little to no ACTUAL story and packing it all into bullshit expansions, I remember when games used to be released with amazing, full stories, like all of the halo series for example, and the DLC was extra maps, not THE REST OF THE STORY, Despite the fact the ACTUAL GAME doesn't have story, or little to no story, there's no backstory, we know NOTHING about the anything really. For Bungie to have made this, I think its about time that I quit buying games, everything is just a money grab and people don't give a -blam!- what they make, as long as it gets a lot of money, theres no passion anymore. Bungie, I'm disappointed, for even Bungie to turn their games into a scamming cashgrab, and yes I know activision was most likely at fault here, but Bungie was a part of it, for even Bungie to do it that just shows how -blam!-ing retarded the gaming industry is now. -blam!- you Activision, and I'm sorry Bungie but I'm not longer a fan of your work. I may only be one person, but I hope someone at Bungie realizes their mistake.

I hear the queue for gamers disappointed with Destiny is a bloody long one.
-
Thank you. Bungie really needs update the game (hopefully for free) even further. It feels so empty after a while.
-
I'm thoroughly enjoying the game. No issue at all with the core game and would rather they use this pricing model than go down a monthly subscription route favoured by other MMOs and it is an MMO and a very good MMO which, considering the number of players, is working astoundingly well for a new MMO. I agree that the in-game single player could have done with being fleshed out but the grimoir cards are incredibly extensive if you have the time or inclination to read them. I think this is simply down to people buying the game as a single player experience and not expecting or indeed wanting an MMO.
-
You're right. If the Witcher is also a money grab, then I swear I won't buy any games apart from the Elder Scrolls. Despite what anyone says, an Elder Scrolls game is 110% guaranteed to be worth the money. It's the only game you can buy now, knowing that it'll be good.
-
I enjoy the game play, the PVP is fun but the story was heart breakingly disappointing, and the more I thought about it, the more I got reminded of Call of Duty, except COD actually HAS a story (at least up till MW3 which is when i stopped playing it). I'm worried Bungie are under some pressure to focus on PVP, even more worried that it was a choice they made, you can't have 4 games and have 1% story. The game looks fantastic, but there's not depth, no soul, it feels like a beautiful husk.
-
It has a a really cool back story you just need to read the grimoire cards but you are spot on with the bs expansions. "Well I'm sure you have 30$" people will try to defend it but it sucks. Why would bungie purposely hold back just for more money? I really hope that was activisions choice because unless bungie does something fast destiny will die in a month.
-
This game should've really been sold for about $20... $60 for this empty husk of a game is bullsht.
-
On another note Super Mario barely has any story. It's repetitive as well. Same as Mario Kart. All you do is race -.- You don't know bowser's back ground or why you have to safe peach. Then in later games they add to the story. But did people care? Nope. Why? Because they had FUN
-
Odd. You're disappointed, but you've played over 65 hours.
-
Bungie took the fall for what Activision did: rushing game development and greedy marketing. Game developers are innocent in this. They're basically slaves to their publisher's will. If publishers took it easy on developers, then games wouldn't be so damn rushed and half-baked.
-
Excuse me sir, but did you know, that if Bungie had made destiny a full and complete game before it was launched it would be like call of duty right? Fun at first then it would turn into a big brown pike of horse shit. So what they did was smart because this is the FIRST type of game like this for consoles; so they plan on making it like WoW and making you buy the expansions to get the full story. Not only that, but to see who their true, loyal, fans are they won't bitch about paying for the story bc they have enjoyed every second of it so far. So please gtfo the forums and whine somewhere else.

Ur a tool if u listen to that loser angryjoe just no LMAO
-
Aren't you being a bit quick to jump to conclusions, not everyone has finished the game and cast their vote. It's about what it did have, not what it didn't. Btw people, IT'S NOT HALO
-
angry joe makes an honest review, i completly agree with him. I still like the game but i expected a lot more from this game.
-
Well, I like the game and no amount of people telling me I shouldn't is going to change that.
-
I'm sure bungie will miss you. Some one at there office probably sniffled a few times. Hope your proud of yourself.
-
Look at your grimoir cards. It got a whole bunch of backstory. I love the way bungie made the backstory into grimoirs. Its like you have to find artifacts from the past to know wth happened.
-
So a company makes one game YOU don't like and you turn your back on the company ....Shallow much?
-
I don't give a damn what anyone Says Destiny is the best game I've ever played
-
RIGHT? I totally agree! The problem is storytellers have been doing this crap forever! Like in Star Wars: How dare George Lucas not tell us that Darth Vader is Luke's father in the first movie! Absurd! /sarcasm It's going to be a story told over the course of 10 years, and the first installment in that series isn't even two weeks old yet. When Halo first came out, we knew just about as little as the Halo universe as we do about the Destiny one currently. That's without factoring in the MMO-esque nature of Destiny, where the story has to be crafted in a way where everyone can be the hero. Give it time. I'm sure that there will be books, and graphic novels, and all kinds of other story-telling devices to flesh out the Destiny universe. It just takes more than twelve days to do all of that. So give it time. Or don't. No one is making you play the game.
-
I don't get these posts. It was made plain as day the story would be told over time, through expansions, both paid and free (i.e., Queen's Wrath). The base game is just the first episode. The prologue. The Traveler has awoken, but our enemies are still thriving across the Solar System, if a bit weakened. We're 2 weeks into a 10-year story, told over 4 games with expansions to fill in the gaps. To say the story sucks is like reading the first chapter of a book and basing your opinion off that. You don't know the story.
-
Um the only games that had full stories were FPS some RPG's and adventure games. MMO's never had full stories....they continue with expansions coming out..... But that's none of my business....
-
From what I can tell, the story is given to you in the same way as Dark Souls gives it to you. Read the Grimoire Cards on this website, it's not that hard.
-
omg another angry joe post..... fkn kids....
-
You'd rather buy map packs than actually good DLC? Ok, a bit foolish of an idea, but ok.
-
Can someone tell me what the story is exactly? I know I am a level 27 warlock and have played the story, but I'm not sure what happened. Of all the times I went through the speakers first cut scene I never gave enough craps to register his words. I do however remember getting a gun from that chick that I immediately proceeded to break down for weapon parts. Who did she work for? I want to say maybe the queen.... Oh well.
