I don't approve of the out-of-bounds death, but I'm not so naive as to think it'll ever go away. Especially considering all the nonsense invisible walls and utterly absurd places which will kill you - they REALLY don't want you to deviate from the script. (There's one canyon which loops around into a battle arena... you are fine if you walk the path, but if you go over the hill to exactly the same place, you will die. What the -blam!- does Bungie have against mountain-climbing?)
But could we at least get more than 4 seconds to turn back? Like maybe 20 or 30 or something?
Particularly in places like the moon where everything looks the same so you can't really tell when you're obviously off-script, if you've driven your sparrow somewhere cool-looking and got some sweet air, only to realize you're in magical, invisible death-field area, the odds grow very small that you can correct your 'mistake' (ugh) going back up that incline in time to save yourself.

In Reach the ten second kill boundary was abused in multiplayer.

I can agree with this at least 10 sec I died because I found a chest right by the hill which if you go off by a feet your out of bounds... It was a fun challenge to get the chest but 4 sec is a bit harsh

Agreed.. course an actual open world would be better..

Couldn't agree more it happened to me on the moon, not my idea of open world.

I totally agree. I saw a great place to ride my sparrow, tried to go there, and then died because of it.
