This is why the raid does not have matchmaking

That is with a group who has played together before and all uses mics for communication and planning. It's been 7 hours of playtime and we havn't even beaten the final boss yet, despite having made several attempts.
I understand people are disappointed that they can't just queue up and feel like they are missing out, but even if you are God's gift to gaming (I doubt it) if you can't even make the commitment to find a group to raid with there is no way in hell you were going to finish the raid any time soon, if at all.

What a ridiculous thing to say. One's ability to gather a group of players who all have the same game on the same console and want to play the same mission at the same time isn't even remotely related to one's ability to complete difficult tasks in an FPS. I'm sure you've got some smarts rolling around in that dome of yours. Consider using them next time.
