When your one (ONE) strange coin away from buying your first exotic and your wife and kids say "let's watch Captain America: The Winter Soldier Blu-Ray!"
Outside response: Suuure!
Inside response: Noooooooooooooooooooooo!!!
P.S. Special shout out to ALL the whiners who got the loot caves and Queens Wrath Legendary gear NERFED. Thanks for slowing my 6 inch a hour march to Lvl 30 to A CRAWL.

Absolute truth! Married with a 6 year old stepson and my first child on the way, im 27 and went from playing everyday when I wasnt working I was gaming hardcore and now I wait till the wife goes to bed and force myself to lose sleep to play. Lol its worth it though, I love my family more then the game despite spending the last 10 years of my life gaming every free second of time I had. :)

Edited by Glenn Lindemann: 9/21/2014 1:11:22 PMI am a single father and I play everyday. My son likes to watch me play and if he doesn't want to at the time he'll go in his room and play or watch tv, if he needs something I get up and get it for him or answer his questions then go back to playing. Do I get booted out because of inactivity? Yes, but I don't care my son is way more important than any game. Do other players get pissed at me when this happens? Yes, and I say go to hell if you don't like it, Destiny isn't going anywhere anytime soon.

This game is a blast to play with my son on the same fire team. We create our own story, sometimes we are heroes defeating enemies and sometimes I just push him of the railing at the tower. Either way good times.
-
I'm 2/3rds of the way there with my first child on the way I play when I get time, I feel your pain haha
-
I feel you, the struggle of family/work life cuts down on gaming harsh
-
Just got to remember dude that the game will still be waiting for you, where as you're kids grow up way too fast, enjoy the time you get to spend with them
-
lol same here! I finally have all friday evening and late night off and be like "HEY! let's go out! I wanna go on a dinner date!" me: "that sounds wonderful!" inside me: T______T but that being said, I would never put Destiny before family. This is a nice post, because I didn't think anyone would be able to relate to me in this game. I'd be great for us married men play together sometime LOL Perhaps constantly "hold on! need to get my son/daughter ..." LOL
-
I know the feeling. I try to sneak in as much time as I can but it can be hard with a wife, kid, and working all week. They were laughing at me when I kept saying "One more match" as I desperately tried to hit rank 20 haha.
-
I have a 1 month old boy who seems to know when I start up the PS4 because 20 minutes into the game he'll wake up and start crying. Last night I was trying to do some strikes while he was lying on me and he kept grabbing my fingers lol. Gaming after having a kid is definitely different now. It's worth it though. I mean I'm pretty good at typing with one hand now lol

I know exactly how it is! Just worked up to my 9th coin..!
-
Dads of Destiny clan would be perfect for you!

Edited by YRG: 9/21/2014 7:37:14 AMWord! I feel you man and I don't even have kids! Every girl friend/wife watching daily soaps endangers the species of adult men playing video games. And it must be a very special experience for your fireteam to hear a girl vacuum the living room, yelling that your fireteam leader should get his f..... feet up from the ground. I feel your pain, dude! Precautionary to every female gamer reading this post: no, it's not the everyday situation, that I play videogames while she's doing the housekeeping!
-
Tell them to go watch it in the other room lol
-
The Winter Soldier was a great movie though.
-
Haha I know how you feel man. I'm married with 4 kids and I totally feel your pain.
-
I do pve and pvp, then I let my son farm that loot cave for me when I need a break.
-
Lol the feels are strong

Edited by deadgr1ps: 9/21/2014 6:30:21 AMI got lucky enough to join my buddies weekly strike before I went to sleep right when he just finished it after I spent the entire day doing it on level 28. I sorta felt that pain.
-
husband+gamer+workaholic here. i know that feel. I work 10-15 hours a day, 20 days a month. just now got my 11th coin =/
-
Hahaha , i can relate to that however , i would miss out on Destiny to watch Thor or Thor the dark world , Winter soldier would have to wait until later . My bigger problem is sharing time on the PS4 with my eldest son and letting him play some Destiny :(
-
Wife > Gaming. As much as we sometimes wish we could pull the opposite.
-
Edited by Keeyop: 9/21/2014 10:50:35 AM'Captain America the: The Winter Soldier' is an Epic Blu-Ray, more power to your family for actually wanting to watch something worth watching as opposed to some tween rom-com rubbish. *edit* I've now got 'Cats in the Cradle' stuck in my head, damn you sir, damn you straight to hell.
-
This is my life in a nutshell.
-
The Trick is to spoil the movie for them, then they won't want to watch it and this gaming is maintained
-
No one forced you to get married and have a kid.
