In my quest for Vanguard gear, I was left alone by two quitters. Just to spite them, I not only completed the strike on my own, but earned Flawless Striker, as well, since I never died. That being said, I think there should be a penalty, and a hefty one, for quitting strikes. Something like disallowing them from going anywhere/doing anything except go to the tower for a while would be a good start.
For reference, I was in the Vanguard Tiger playlist (or whatever the level 24 stirke playlist is called). Also, being a level 25 Titan Defender helped.
Any suggestions? Thoughts?
Edit: I've said this enough in the comments, but I'll have to put it here. Quitting and connection issues are different. The game definitely knows the difference, and connection issues wouldn't/shouldn't be punished.

Hey Rocket Scientist,, guess what.. They most likely did not quit on you.. In fact.. They were most likely Dropped due to the "bee" error coding affecting strikes and crucible play. Uninformed God is still uninformed.
-
You sir. Are a -blam!-ing god! I recently finished that strike mission and barely got by with 2 others
-
If they manage to stabilize their servers I'm okay with a penalty.
-
Yeah i agree i hate trying to do strikes alone especially when im a lower lvl than the strike
-
You sure they left and didn't get some bullshit network error code?

Was when I found out how good fusion rifles were against Phogoth.

The great thing about this app is u can check stories . U sir r not lying . Don't know if u exploited a bug or not but u did do it without a single death.

Edited by Yoursavior450: 9/19/2014 5:21:48 PMI had the SAME thing happen yesterday BUT I did die once on my way to the boss but not during a darkness zone so I'm pretty proud of myself. I was like "screw you guys I'm going it alone! Quitters suck!

What if it's the strike where it's the nexus mind. Even with a team of great players nexus mind is still op. Disconnecting is also a problem even with a stable internet connection I've had a couple
-
To deflate your ego a bit, I guarentee you exploited the wall bug to kill Phogoth, but even getting there is good work. As for penalties, I would suggest the League of Legends LeaverBuster. You accumulate points for every leave and lose points for successive finishes in a game. Once you hit a certain amount of points you are banned for a length of time with successive bans increasing in duration. If you are repeatedly disconnecting, resolve your internet issues before going into multiplayer.
-
That's a ridiculous suggestion. What about involuntary disconnects? What about needing to quit for real life reasons like a strike running long and needing to go to work or school or take a crap? If you finished it alone and got a trophy why complain? You know if people quit it will usually match new players in so if you are not good enough to get through a spot alone you can just wait a few min. It's not like it really matters with randoms anyway since you can't talk to them or coordinate in any way they might as well be npc.
-
I dislike people who ditch as much as the next guy and get very frustrated when I get left alone during a strike, but what about people who get disconnected? I have, on several occasions, been disconnected from my strike/mission due to Internet problems. I feel bad for the people I left but I can't do anything about that. How would you address a problem like that?
-
There's a problem with what you're saying. A lot of times when ppl leave a strike it's because they get kicked, not because they quit
-
I had to quit recently because my child was crying. Sure, punish those responsible parents.. But seriously, you're better off befriending reliable people, making friends and sticking to those groups.
-
People have soloed the lvl 28 strike. It's very believable that you did that.
-
They should be locked out from doing any other strikes for a minimum of an hour. Take a durability loss to their armor, damage reduction from their weapons. Or be forced to play with low level characters to help them get gear while they get no XP or any rep and currency
-
I never quit strikes but on 3 occasions Iv been kicked just as the strike started (disconnection) I know that's not the case most of the time but please bare in mind that not everyone who leaves does so thru choice :)
-
I'm sick of the a holes that don't do anything thats why I been backing out of them. We should be able to kick the people joining just to leach marks etc.
-
The penalty should run a check on server disconnects and if it wasn't a server disconnect a quit from a strike makes it so you can't get vanguard marks on your next attempted strike, same with crucible.

Edited by BrokenLance: 9/19/2014 12:39:29 AMI'm sorry you got stuck with leavers but Who cares what you did. "claims that i'm lying?" you just sound insecure.
-
Quitters suck!!!! Something needs to be done about them, it screws people over. 😡
-
I think not letting them keep all the engrams, grimoire, and xp that they've collected so far would be fair.
-
Bump?

Nice! I just looked on your profile :D
