Dear Forum People,
For those who bought 'Destiny' and feel that they played a solid amount of it I have a few questions.
I did not purchase 'Destiny', since I have no platform to properly play it on.
1.) In the time you played 'Destiny', have you felt bored because you didn't have enough unique objectives?
2.1) Lone Wolves: Going through the game (mostly) on your lonesome, how challenging would you call 'Destiny'? (Can use words or numbers, 1 being easy - 10 being 'Dark Souls')
2.2) Fire Teams: Going through the game (mostly) with one or more teamamates, how challenging would you call 'Destiny'? (Can use words or numbers, 1 being easy - 10 being 'Dark Souls')
3.) Do you feel that 'Destiny' as a game, is a finished product? Please take into account all/most aspects of the game, from the menus to the story, events, PvP, etc.
4.) 'Destiny' is an mmo in some ways, one is that it's aiming for a 10 year lifespan, do you think that the pacing of the story/leveling supports that goal or ignores it?
5.1) If you have played most of the 'Halo' games, do you feel like this truly is a “Brave New World”?
5.2) If you haven't played any of the 'Halo' games, welcome, and do you feel like this truly is a “Brave New World”?
6.) Was 'Destiny' in your opinion, overhyped, why/why not?
7.) Is there something you'd like to see in the game? This can be anything from different voices for your Ghost to the ability to pilot your own spaceship, etc.
Those were some of the questions I have, I look forward to reading your answer below.
Thank you for your time, have a great day.

Edited by Gohlar: 9/17/2014 10:08:59 PM1. Yes 2. There are a wide range of difficulties. It gets sufficiently difficult if you want it to. 3. Yeah. There's enough there, but it's basic. 4. Ignores it. It's a loot grind game with minimal story. It's nowhere near an mmo in both scale or content. 5. It's pretty generic. 6. Absolutely. The freedom and scale were vastly less than what people expected. 7. More variety. There's too few enemies/guns.

To answer your questions: 1) I honestly haven't felt bored with this game. I'm having a great time feeling like a badass. The objectives might be a bit repetitive in their structure, but the unique locations and enemy types/difficulties makes up for that in spades, IMO. 2) I've been lone-wolfing it for a while. I'd say it's about a 6 or 7 in terms of difficulty. It's not Dark Souls level of brutality, but it can get rough in some areas. As for with a Fireteam, the regular missions about the same, but the Strikes can reach 8 to 9 in difficulty. Haven't attempted Vault of Glass yet. 3) I'd say it's about 80% complete at the time of launch. All the essentials are there. We just need some more interaction and story. 4) I would say the story is paced out as such. Though I think of Destiny as less of an MMO and more of a dungeon crawler. 5) I've played only a few Halo games, and yes, this is a "Brave New World" as you mention it. 6) As someone who didn't exactly follow all the press releases and ignored every rumor/speculation about the game, I'd say the game was hyped enough. 7) Piloting the ships would be a great addition, along with more reason to come back to the tower besides cashing in your loot drops and buying things.

1.) I'm not a fanboy, im a mature gamer who has played games on multiple platforms and multiple genres. this game is probably the first ive been able to sit down and enjoy for hours on end and look forward to coming home to after work since skyrim and borderlands. Since its come out i have already accumulated 3 days play time and the game in no way feels stale/boring/grindy. even for my 25 strike exotic bounty i felt challenged to get through in the quickest time possible. I would recommend playing with friends though as some of the bosses have a very hefty amount of HP and will frustrate a solo player. 2.) Difficulty depends on how skilled you are as a solo player. If you can solo Halo 3 legendary with ease i'd give the difficulty on this about a 6. if you are more of a casual player who doesn't understand MOB mechanics and boss fights it'll be an 8 2.1) as a team i had little to no trouble and maybe died once from bad timing, running into a grenade or trying to melee a boss. Its not too easy and you'll be punished if you just jump into the middle of everything but if you play it normal you'll find yourself blowing through missions. HOWEVER: the strikes once unlocked on high difficulty are very difficult if not impossible unless youre a veteran. the raid is easily a 10 in difficulty and i'd even put it in front of dark souls because it requires 6 people to flawlessly execute together or you lose instantly 3.) i feel like all the opinions on these forums are from either teenage kids who just want someone to listen to them, or people who have no experience playing MMO type games. Destiny feels very polished, the game-play is fluid and engaging, the soundtrack is flawless and really draws you into the fights. Landscapes are beautiful and intricate and sometimes i enjoy merely looking around for a bit at my surroundings. The tower is a very cool and smart new take on a typical store/trading market that is usually delivered in game menus. Most people think its for interacting but its more of a trade hub that bungie has made explore-able and more of a resting area for in-between your raids, PvP matches. PvP is very balanced and weapons all have a very good chance of killing based on your play style. i do feel that most maps favor auto/close range weapons but im sure maps will be added that are more of a median. for a game that (in my opinion) is more focused on PvE, it has a very flawless multiplayer. All in all if you put a little thought into each aspect of the game (leveling/story/looting) you can see exactly what they were trying to achieve and its honestly brilliant 4.) 10 years for any game is honestly a little ridiculous considering that the console will be replaced by then. After what i've seen and what i can assume bungie will add, this game will be very playable for 1-2 years and maybe longer depending how much content or expansions they will add. It most definitely has the potential to have some incredible DLC 5.) Yes ive played all the halos multiple times, the mechanics of the campaign feel like halo, i.e. strategies on killing the enemy AI. The bossfights are entirely new though and youll find yourself dying the first few times you go for a run at him. After the story is finished though it's an entirely new beast, when it comes to gameplay. The multiplayer feels entirely new, however. The weapon balance is on point, the maps are new and a few have become quick favorites of mine, and it feels like you can always kill someone no matter what gun they're using, as long as you play to your characters strengths. Granted this is coming from a competitive gamer and i have no trouble killing 90% of anyone that walks into my crosshair. Overall you can kinda see some halo-ish things to it but its not like youre playing and all of sudden you think "thats just like in Halo!" 6.) If anything was overhyped, it was someones personal problem. i came into destiny very optimistically, especially after getting my feet wet with the beta. It was kinda like playing assassins creed for the first time when it gave you the "i've never played this before why hasn't anyone thought of it" feel. Its an MMO shooter but it isnt. it kinda takes the best of both worlds and mesh's them into an incredibly fun and well thought out hybrid that i'm enjoying the more i play it. It's a new type of game that doest fit the norm but takes some of the best aspects from multiple genres. Its only fault is that it cant be both because apparently people want it to be another typical straightforward MMO or FPS and not appreciate it for what it is. 7.) right now you can only wear one piece of exotic gear at a time, i'd like to be able to wear multiple because theyre all awesome. your typical method of travel "sparrow" would be really cool to have some sort of races with them as theyre very fun to drive. I'd like to see more legendary upgrade materials as rewards instead of more gear, i can only wear so much before i want to upgrade instead. other than that the game is solid
