I'm just curious if anyone is using the legendary auto rifle "Doctor Nope" and how it performs particularly in the Crucible as I couldn't really find much through a Google search. With its low recoil and amazing fire rate it seems like it would be a headshot laser beam. The only thing that worries me about it is its really low impact. Any opinions before I buy one? I currently use a blue level 18 Shingen-E Auto Rifle I picked up quite a while ago and it absolutely dominates in pvp. I have about a 50% headshot kill rate using it since I can easily keep the majority of its shots on the enemies head.. I'm not sure if the Glass Half Full mod on it helps, but it seems to take out most other auto rifle users before they can take me out so maybe that extra damage in the second half of the mag does work in pvp. IDK tho. Anyway, any opinions on the Doctor Nope for pvp and how it compares to a Shingen-E if you have used one?

TL:DR: Is the Doctor Nope Legendary AR an amazing headshot laser beam as its stats suggest in pvp? Planning to buy it if it is as amazing as it looks.
Also, I haven't used the Bungie forums before this post, so sorry if this post is in the wrong category.

I found one from a drop, and it's slightly different from the one you can buy. Overall the gun is great for sustained fire. You've got a high ammo count and a quick fire rate. It's pretty good I'd say.

It's solid for pve. Shadow price outclasses it badly imo.

I honestly am not a fan of it in the crucible. The low impact makes it to where you have to keep fire on them the whole time or they will be able to kill you. Spray and pray also does not really work for this gun in the crucible unless you're looking to get a ton of assist points. MY synopsis; great for PvE , get something with higher impact for PvP.

Edited by Undeadfire Zero: 9/18/2014 3:27:14 AMAtheons Epilogue beats this weapon. It comes from the Raid Normal Final boss and it's the same gun really. But it allows half clip damage increase, it carries 74 bullets and grows more accurate then longer it's fired. The hidden ability allows an extreme low recoil as well, the gun runs Void damage only.

If you want to be able to kill from a distance then it may not be the weapon for you was its recoil is not the best. But for a run and gunner type of player then this weapon could be your best friend. I use it almost all of the time in the campaign but I have to admit I switch back to my Cydonia once I decide to go into the crucible.

I am using one on my hunter from a drop, and have one in my vault for my Titan as well (haters go ahead and hate) and I love it in pve. I haven't used it in pvp yet, but plan on doing so tonight and will update accordingly

I haven't used it, the rate of fire is too high for my liking so I probably won't buy it.

In Crucible, and Strikes for that matter, higher impact is key. It allows for more damage to be dealt per shot, which can also increase flinching on the receiving player. However, higher impact also means lower fire rate. It really comes down to your play style. I was always ending Crucible matches with more deaths than kills, coincidentally, using a high fire rate, low impact auto rifle. Once I switched to an auto rifle that had those stats reversed, it was a lot easier to get kills, which definitely improved my chances at surviving against other players. In PVE, I tend to like higher fire rate weapons, depending on the enemies being fought.

Haven't touched PVP but me and the Doctor are doing amazing in pve. :)

No opinions? Does that mean no one has used it or something? I guess I'll just wait then.
