Please Add DPS (Damage per Second) Stats for PVE/Strikes
I am not sure if I am the only one, but I find the post match statistics pretty limited and relatively useless for PvE, particularly on strikes. K/D ratio is nice but it does not give you a very accurate picture of overall performance, for a few reasons.
1. Because not all kills are equal (ie. thrall vs Knight)
2. You only get credit for the kill if you get the last shot. Yes, assists account for this slightly but getting one shot on a mob would be equal to doing 90% of the damage for an assist
3. The bosses are bullet sponges, you really have no idea who is actually doing damage to them because only the final kill is recorded. Ideally you would have a separate statistic for boss DPS and overall DPS
What should be kept track of is total damage dealt divided by the amount of time in a strike/mission known as DPS (damage per second). This is a pretty standard metric in MMO games and is far more useful than the more PvP oriented K/D ratio popularized by Call of Duty and the like.
This would be nice to not only review your own performance and see how you are progressing, it also shows a tangible result of your better gear. It's a big motivator to get better gear and put up bigger numbers.
Also it's a great way to evaluate people you play in strike playlist with. Could determine if you want to run another with them or even add them to your friends list as a potential raid partner down the line.
Obviously this isn't a game changing issue and is more of a nice to have, but it would seemingly be really simple to implement. The game already records all the damage you put up with each hit, along with the time spent on a mission/strike. Should be pretty easy to add that damage up and divide by the time.
Hopefully others feel the same way so Bungie sees this!
