Are Titans the weakest in the Crucible, or am I just worse than I think?
I've tried Crucible over and over. My friends tell me it's fun, and that you have to get use to it, but they're playing as Warlocks and Hunters. I'm constantly being wrecked by players, that are mostly Hunters and Warlocks. Even thinking about it, I don't really see that many Titans in the Crucible. The Titan abilities seem to only really work in defense, even the Striker Subclass. Is any other Titan just getting destroyed out there? I'm good at games like Halo and Battlefield, and I'll admit, I'm not great at Crucible, but this is out of control! Does anyone feel the same? Are Titans a weaker PvP class?

8 RepliesI come first most games and I'm a titan .. All the silly hunters running inside my bubble shield to say hello to my shotgun... And all the warlocks to punch in the face and get an overshield with.. Its great... Then again i am using shotgun invective and my sniper ice breaker *exotics*

I'm a Titan defender and I'm usually at the top of the leaderboard. Ward of Dawn is a great ability when used properly.

I am a level 16 Titan and I find that, while most Titans get used to their defense stat, it doesn't help in pvp. And you never know when a hunter has blade dance on. so generally, i stick to the back of the pack and take out the people who come up behind OR if in control, i go for their furthest point as soon as a large firefight ends, because they stop spawning then, and then i stick up my shield and take the point.

Titan Striker is ridiculously UP in all situations. Defender is really good at Control. Only for capping points though. You have to be stupid to run into his shield. Against good players, Defender does jack diddly; against scrubs, it wrecks.

1 ReplyRead through a few posts.. "Titan is weakest in pvp" is bullshit. If you listen to that then you're being mislead. Everyone gets killed by novabombs and rockets if you don't see them coming. What's defender shield for? Giving yourself time to run or recover in a firefight. It brings enemies in close where you're at an advantage more often then not. Max upgraded it can be used to give you a damage buff in pvp. That's LOLs in pvp. Have you seen how fast a buffed gun kills? Ive come out of the shield and killed three people before having to reload my rifle. Titans are strong when the people who play them understand how they are best used. I can't count on two hands the number of times I've thrown my laser grenade on a wall to weaken people entering a room, or getting people off a control point. The damage is less obvious than other grenades, and not as noticeable as the grenade is weakening you in a firefight. Weapons are the main pvp bruiser. You'll kill more people with your weapons then you will and class ability that you have. The armor stat does count in pvp. DEFENSE is equalized. Yes, titans benefit from a higher base armor. This does not help us in any significant way. We can survive a grenade of we're running away or take a little less damage outside of headshots, maybe. Were killed just as easily as other classes

"I don't really see many Titans in the Crucible" - Are you serious. I got the trophy, kill 100 Titans in PvP way before getting the Warlock or Hunter one.

All my friends play as Titan, and those of us who like competitive multiplayer usually go top 3 on our team. We aren't great but the Titan can absolutely wreck people if you have all your gear and abilities working synergistically.

I play prety good in game modes like rumble, control and skitmish, and i am a titan to. So im just really good or im not that good but stil above average and it isn't the titans fault

1 ReplyIt's basically breaks down to this. Each class has it's perks. However, every class will say the others are more powerful. I'm a hunter and I think the others are stronger at pvp. My friend has a warlock and he says the others are stronger at pvp. My other friend has a titan and HE says the others are stronger at pvp. Do you see where I'm getting at here?

I feel almost overpowered half the time I play, while other I'll feel very underpowered. That's balance my friend. I don't mean to offend you, but you're probably just worse than you think you are. Don't let this stress you out as, most of us are/were! This is a game that will take some getting used to, so sit back and refine your playstyle and really learn the ins and outs of a titan. Also try some other classes because there is a chance that you might be better suited to a Warlock or Hunter. Try different weapons and different talent builds as well. This game is a blank template for you to make a character that is perfect for your playstyle, so take advantage of it! Best of luck to you sir! Hopefully soon you'll be able to find a playstyle and class that fits you like a glove and you'll kick that feeling of uselessness that I know comes along with getting wrecked in the Crucible.

1 ReplyI'm a warlock and I'm not that great either! I'm a decent cod player though. But the pvp I find a little difficult but I'm slowing getting used to it. I remember my first crucible match 1 kill to like 15 or 20 deaths. Didn't bother me. Slowly picking it up just takes time to get used to. I'm loving this game though.

titans have the most armor, they are strojnger than the other classes, i get 1 shot killed by a shoulder charge.

I really suck in destiny crucible, after playing plantsvszombies garden warfare, Titanfall... It's hard for me to remember all the maps in one day including a different pvp, so you must keep trying, it's worth it.

I'm a titan and I do pretty well, you just gotta keep at it! you'll get better!! get your bubble and kill everyone that runs in. it's great watching em try to kill me while in it.

Well I suck at cod and now I'm great at destiny. It's weird. Alright, so titans have a higher defense rating, meh with recovery, and shitty with agility. So if your shields go down you're screwed. It might just be the slowness of the Titan that throws you off a bit.

I think anything that is a warlock is weak. ha... nah class has its up and downs. Plus u need a good fire team most of all and communication.

I love Crucible on my Titan, I am not the best but I dont get crushed all the time. Maybe you just need to get a little better gear?
