The earth is too big
So um no one else seems to have notice how massive the earth looks from the moon like its bloody gargantuan look at the the earth from the real moon above then the one from destiny. I know it's just a game but like they got the moon size right when your on the earth why not do it the other way around.

Whatever the Hive did by drilling and cracking the moon most likely pulled it's orbit closer to the earth. Thus, the earth is closer and the ISS is closer.
