Let me start by saying I had no issues with the beta and played the crap out of it. First day I got the full game, it was telling me I had to be connected to xbox live (which I was) to play. Figured "oh well, they pulled a GTA V". 2nd day I was able to play for about 5-15 mins at a time before getting the "caterpillar" error code. 9 times out of 10 it happens on the moon mission "Sword of Crota" right after I kill the first wave of enemies with the sword and the first gold named knight spawns. Its pretty consistent that that's where the caterpillar code pops up for me. I've tried playing the crucible a couple times but it gives me the "newt" error code. Earlier after first turning my xbox One on, I couldn't even get Destiny to open. I'd click on it and it wouldn't do anything, then when it finally opened there was no sound and my ship was invisible. I've recently gotten a new $160 netgear modem/router. Best one I've ever had, my friend who's going to college for computer networking gave me a 50 ft ethernet cable so I could do a wired connection for my xbox One and he helped me use the Quality of Service to prioritize my Xbox One. I have an Open Nat and full ping. We checked on the ports thing too because I'd read that Destiny is really picky about certain ports but everything on my end should be good. I'm kind of just waiting and hoping they'll fix this since I've been waiting for this game for a couple of years and it was shaping up to be my favorite game ever. But honestly I'm pretty close to just selling it. This is ridiculous.

We are aware there are some players that are not having a quality experience getting or staying connected to Destiny, even after following the troubleshooting steps. We will be updating the CATTLE/CATERPILLAR, CENTIPEDE, BEE/FLY/LION and BEAVER/FLATWORM/LEOPARD help articles with updates as we investigate. Here are some links for those that want more info (scroll to the bottom of each article for updates): http://www.bungie.net/7_Error-Code-CENTIPEDE/en/Help/Article/11875 http://www.bungie.net/7_Error-Code-CATERPILLAR--CATTLE/en/Help/Article/11873 http://www.bungie.net/7_Error-Code-BEE--FLY--LION/en/Help/Article/11791 http://www.bungie.net/7_Error-Code-BEAVER--FLATWORM--LEOPARD/en/Help/Article/11790

Yep, about to take this game's "caterpillar" ass down to Gamestop and sell it off. I *LOVE* the game, but the last day or so I get to play maybe 5-15 minutes at a time. Making it worthless. :( I read about turning off the ISP P2P filters and it helping but no idea how to do it... and shouldn't have to. Bungie had time to iron this all out. BOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!

we got sheeped on

Ditto. Just got the game today, and the damn thing won't work on this old russia mission without consistently and repeatedly booting me from the game less than ten minutes into playing. Caterpillar, every time. I love bungie, but this shit isn't worth 60 damn dollars if this is all I have to look forward to. It's unplayable

I agree and I too have done everything possible on my end to enhance my internet connection. This game is useless at this point because I get an error message for everything, as well as playing with no audio half the time!

Yeah I have been having the same problem. I have reset every electronic device in my house, played with my network settings and still when I go on Destiny I get alternating 'caterpillar' and 'bee' error codes. What do Bungie???

I live in Western Australia and I haven't got no "Caterpiller" error but I CERTAINLY am getting ticked the -blam!- off with all these crashes. 1/2 matches on Crucible and 1/3 Strike missions will have me crash from the game; not to mention all the times I've dropped in the Tower. Bungie have alleged there is Australian servers but I'm doubting to believe them right now. I REALLY love Bungie, always have, but my love is waning thin and frankly I'm losing my faith and love for this game. Not happy Bungie, not at all..

I have had very similar problem. I get dwnload speeds of 30+mb/s I am wired in now on xbox one. I got a new modem, capable of handling high speeds. I usually run wired from a router, but have switched directly to modem connection and still same problems. First day of playing 9/10/14 no problems on Earth. Starting 9/11/14 on moon all day I experienced being kicked out of games varying from no entry from orbit to after 20-30mins of playing. Very similarly as Hypes11, I would get kicked out "Sword of Crota" right after killing the first 2 waves of enemies. Just before killing the 3rd and saving..... POOF - dropped from server. I also have difficulties "Launching" after picking a destination, it will say something about the server. I would get error codes of CANARY, BEE, (one other don't remember now) - all related to network issues. I continually would get "No Internet Connection". I reset everything so many times to no avail. I spent most of my nights trying to diagnose my hardware when i SHOULD be playing! What the heck!

Right there with you except the 'caterpillar' error is constant. It doesn't matter what I'm doing, I get dropped randomly and then booted my Xbox LIVE. It's getting progressively WORSE. It's frustrating enough to deal with this kind of bullshit when all you want to do is play a game. But the fact that Xbox support were garbage, my ISP was no help, BungieHelp haven't said a word and Bungie as a whole is just ignoring the issue, only mentioning people having issues because they're on a Univeristy's connection just makes everything absolutely infuriating.

Edited by Goonberry4238: 9/19/2014 10:06:43 AMMy game experience was fine the first two days. Starting last night though I have been getting multiple error codes such as bee, lion, fly, and the occasional centipede. I can get on every other multiplayer game with no problem. I have NAT Type two and everything else seems fine. I really hope this gets fixed. Or at least know a time frame as to when this will get fixed.

Only been kicked out 3 times in 5 days of play....Xbox 360 wireless connection. But it kicks me out at the tower so It's quite random.
virgin internet is the best! -blam!- sky!
Same here buddy. Bungie also seems to be strangely quite with regards to the Caterpillar error code. Other sites have fixes and such for a whole heap of different errors, but this damned Caterpillar, no one seems to know anything about it. Come on Bungie!!

Hey guys. A fella named DataLV426 offered a great solution. This may not work for you but it fixed my Caterpillar error problem. I had to configure my ISP so that the filters which blocked P2P were set to zero. If that doesn't make sense, please read the thread here: http://www.bungie.net/en/Forum/Post/69185054/0/0/1 I couldn't play more than 5 minutes before, but now I'm up and running with no problems. I don't know if this fix is only helpful to people in Japan, but I guess the method should apply to anyone anywhere. I hope it can help you out.
