Gaming on the PS4 - TV ot Monitor?

So, bought the Destiny bundle last night and didn't realize that the gaming industry assumes everone has an HDTV, which I don't, so now I need a cheap monitor or TV to pick up some time in the near furture. What is better for playing the PS4 on, an HDTV or Monitor? Any suggestions? Thx
