So I've wasted 3 hours today trying to get an answer. Come on Bungie, please don't point fingers as Microsoft and Activision both did. Last I checked the USA had multiple time zones, I happen to be in Central time (poor folks on the east coast). The digital download for Destiny states that It wont be playable (when launched it sends you to the MS store) until midnight Pacific time. So why do I have to wait an additional two hours before my digital purchase is playable. Seems like a SNAFU to me, very upset at all parties involved, MS, Activision, and Bungie. Oh and why does China (who just got access to Xbox One) get to play a day before the USA does!!! Come on Bungie, get your act together, you are hurting your core audience and causing resentment!

The reason for this is because both the Playstation Store and Xbox Live Marketplace are based on the west coast of North America, which is UTC-7. Because this is the retailer you purchased your copy of Destiny from, and this retailer is situated in the PST time zone, you must wait until it becomes 12:00 AM on the west coast of North America before you may start playing Destiny.

I am sorry to say it, but you could have used those three hours to get rested up and ready to play at 2AM. I got mixed messages from them saying "as soon as the servers are turned on" and then "when it goes live on PSN at midnight PST", but I console myself that the digital download beats smelling nerd sweat in line at the local Best Game Buy Stop at midnight. That and I've already missed my fix for what ... 42 days?

I don't understand why everyone acts all surprised when this information has been available since you were able to preorder the game. It says, right on your screen, that Destiny will be available to play at 12amPST when you select the digital preorder option on your console.

I'm on the east coast and really don't don't understand why video game companies want to promote digital day one downloads when this is how were being repayed for buying into it.
