I have seen many posts on this, when I go to the library and click on the countdown there are two times that should be considered.
1. Expected Auto-Download Date: 09/05/2014
2. Time until release: (countdown) 3 days 14hours 51 minutes...
Keyword here is release, not download. Many know that once you download and come 9/9 that you cannot play until PS verifies certs. This is the release date, that is when PS will release your game respective to your countdown.
So, recap, your countdown is when you can play, download would have already occurred.
Edit: inaccuracy

Just turned on the ps4 and destiny and the update was added to the que and started downloading. It added the vanguard armory but then stayed it could not download. Anyone else get this?

I pre-order the digital on the PSN too, and after checking it yesturday, it was saying that the pre-dowload should stard this Sunday. At first when I've pre-oder it (after the Alpha) it was saying pre-load 5 days before release, so maybe Sony just changed it cause of the release of Mincraft, they don't want to overload the service i guest.
