Destiny players who have been long time Bungie.net users could receive special Bungie or Halo themed rewards for their Guardians.
A few ideas:
A septagon emeblem, a blue fire for their helm, or a Ghost that looks like Guilty Spark.

Just stfu you entitled little bitch

I'd absolutely flip if we got flaming helmets. And to those who say "what about Playstation people?" I had a Xbox AND a PS2 back in the day. Just because you had a Xbox doesn't mean you didn't have a Playstation. Now if you want to talk about PS4 or Xbox One, well, that's the point of legacy, isn't it?

Edited by A Wa1nut259: 9/5/2014 2:25:39 PMThe only issue there is that some people never played the halo games, as they only had PlayStations. Because of that they wouldn't have access to the very benefit you're suggesting. And I'll go ahead and say that your idea would effectively be inaccessible to a large portion of the Xbox players and the vast majority, if not all of the PlayStation players.

I think some of you may have misinterpreted what I'm suggesting: these rewards would be given to members with an outstanding tenure on BNet, not to players who have played Halo the longest. The rewards would be cosmetic, they would only signify that the player has been a part of the Bungie Community for a good deal of time. As far as the fairness of these rewards I don't seem to understand why they would be "unfair", they are no more "unfair" than any of the rewards received from the preordering of Destiny or any of the rewards received from attending live Bungie events. And these rewards would not be console biased in any way: they would be attached solely to the Bungie user's account.

Edited by Ralphard: 9/5/2014 7:07:40 PMThey may exist in the form of Emblems. c41 - Shield of Heroes (Uncommon) r19 - Shield of Legends (Rare) e20 - Shield of Mythics (Legendary)

Bungie agrees with you :)

Yes, of course. You are completely correct. If they decided to reward those who played all the "Xbox" games, there would be a tremendous gap. No doubt followed by many cries of unfairness. However, if you take a moment, the OP said "long time Bungie.net users". Drifter never suggested rewarding individuals playing on one particular console or another. :) Regardless, there is a lot of new blood accompanying the imminent arrival of Destiny. Welcome to the Bungie community. You're in for one hell of a ride. :)

canz i haz recon?

I wouldn't throw such a thing out of bed. Though I find it highly unlikely.
-
That is the stupidest f****** self entitled bunch of s*** I ever heard
-
-
Would be cool. Highly doubtful they can use anything referencing Halo without Microsoft's permission though. Though a Guilty Spark Ghost would be bad ass as exclusive content for the Xbox.
-
Yes but allow the sanghelli as a choosable race.
-
I think that would be nice. I am afraid, however, that cries of "unfair" would fill our hallowed halls. Not that it would be any different than PlayStation exclusives.
-
As long as its cosmetic, and not something that affects gameplay..... Why not?
-
I remember some time ago that Bungie mentioned your ability to show off your Bungie.net career in game. And to show how long you've been a member. Its probably something cosmetic that would illustrate the number of years you've been on Bungie.net. maybe like an emblem or something.

Very nice thought, I too would appreciation some appreciation, you know, for us long time Bungie supporters. I feel the only problem with this is that many longtime Bungie supporters have been gaming on the Xbox, therefore, only those that played on the 360 would get the benefit. Major disputes waiting to happen. Still, I would like to see this come to fruition. Bungie has always been great with fan support.

Drifter, I like the way you think! Great ideas for rewarding player/customer loyalty and support through the years. Regardless of their age, I know many individuals who have invested heavily into Bungie over the years. It is good to know that Bungie values their fans and supporters. They remain humble and driven. Every Bungie employee fully realizes that without each and every one of us, they and their company would not be where they are today - nor would we be getting Destiny. :) Legacy rewards could be a badge of honor, something to strive for. Not something to flaunt, but a symbol that quietly demands respect. Too bad there isn't enough office space in the Bungie building for forward thinking fan rewarding people like yourself. :)
