I think I insulted people with my last thread, I do apologize for that. This one will be friendlier, a thread where Christians can teach me about Hell.
So how close is it? Any similiraties at all or is it way off? Btw the game is freaking awesome.

Hmmmmmmmm no. Heaven is just landing amongst the cosmos. Your accepted into gods kingdom you're never actually ever closer or further from god. Say you saved the human race and you die, you don't become gods right hand man and grab a brew with him up in the clouds and reminisce about the time he flooded the entire planet and saved 1 human family and a shit ton of animals.

No one can really tell you, Dante's Inferno was Dante's imagining of what Hell would be like
-
Wouldn't having levels in Hell(Inferno) mean there are levels to Heaven(Paradiso)?

Edited by GiantDad: 9/4/2014 6:17:39 AMWell, the game is based off the poem. I think the poem drew inspiration from Catholicism, Christianity, and a few others. It's not meant to be a literal take on Hell, it was more of a journey of redemption. It told a story, it wasn't saying "this is what Hell is probably like".

Edited by d 6d7565727465: 9/4/2014 1:02:39 PMI don't think there are demons boobs opening up to make whatever those things were. Soooo not very close.

Very far off. But as that guy said, read the book. If you don't read Italian you get a lot less of the symbolic nature, but the English version is still damn good.

Read the book. It's a better book than game.
Paradiso=Hell
Eh. Varies. I can't remember anything concrete, because I know one of Jesus' parables referred to it, but I don't know if that's meant to be taken literally. Revelations probably says fire and bottomless pits and brimstone, but then again it was written by a guy that was alone on an island for like 20 or 30 years and was probably going insane.

I used to be Christian, so from what I know. It's pretty damn similar
