I was just thinking today how interesting this journey has been. Moreover the impact this game has had on my life. Because of one game I have met new people, people I love to game with and people I consider friends..... People I never would have met if it wasn't for video games. Just thought it was interesting the impact a game can have on your life when you look at the big picture.
I have made some long time friends thanks to this one great game.

Well said, old friend. Seeing as how Destiny is but a few short hours away from launching, I imagined SSE was looking forward to it. So I thought I would stop by once more before its official release to tell all of my fellow friends here that I hope you enjoy Destiny to the fullest. Have fun everyone!

Thanks buddy! It has been real as well.

Just like you said, most people don't realize what video games really are and what they do, be it forging new friendships or bringing old ones closer together. When I was exploring b.net back in December 2013, I stumbled upon the SSE recruitment post and didn't think much of it until I checked out what the Echoes were about. Clicking that join button was one of the best choices I've made. See you Starside Echoes.

Well said red. I am proud to call all of you my friends.

That's something many people don't understand about videogames, they are not just a time waster for nerds in their mom's basement, they can forge friendships( and the other level if you know what I mean ), they really can change somebody's life....
Holds specially true for parents......
I invited my wife along for this journey, to help her better understand the game community, and because of groups like SSE she does. It's not what she sees on YouTube or what she hears about gamers in the staff room, it's a group of like minded individuals who share a passion for gaming and all that it has to offer...be it down time or community. Well said Red77

Edited by Dallgar: 9/4/2014 2:07:26 AMWell said Red. I consider all of you my friends. It's not us playing video games together when we're on. I'll get on my PS4, put on my mic, and just talk to some people. We've made it this far, less than a week away from launch, and I have a feeling we'll continue on much further than just Destiny. I'll see you guys on the 9th!

For those of us that were in a MMO clan we can all understand. Gameing is the great equalizer. It dose not matter if your a emt , a trash man , or a doctor. If you live on the east cost or Canada. Black , white , or a squirrel. In the game we all learn and teach and help. As a clan , unit , guild , we are all the same inside. Gamers.

I agree 100%. I call you guys friends. FireBrand and I don't have a ton friends and we really look forward to gaming/hanging with SSE. :)

Yeah It has really been a ride. I've seen good people join, and some good people leave. Hell we managed to survive a mass panic with the whole subgroups thing. And now we are only a week away from the one game this group was originally founded for. And I've got that one nagging voice in my head saying " this will never work, SSE will never last" and then I look at threads, comments, ideas and listen to the podcasts. And I realize we will be fine. :)

Video game communities are always strong, you can literally Google hundreds of WoW stories about how the community comes together all the time for different things especially in hard times.

Edited by Spike-J-Hawkin: 9/4/2014 12:02:57 AMI find it crazy how small the world seems with these games. I mean before this I hardly knew anyone more then 25 miles from home and now have people I consider close friends all the way across the world! It's amazing!

I was thinking the same amazing how one game can bring so many of us together
