Frankly, this has nothing to do with CoD. This is Activision cleverly trying to see if Destiny players will buy cosmetics.
Sets the stage for future micro transactions.
Edit: Fixed my typo so the loser who took the time to correct it can sleep at night.

Why do people have problem with micro transaction that are cosmetics only you don't have to get them and it's not going to be a pay to win game either.
