In Metro Redux, a significant amount of changes and tweeks have taken place. Most notably in Metro 2033. When it was initially released, you could easily tell that they did not have to budget at that time to really pull off what they intended. So Redux allowed to them to do that, not only was the gameplay enhaced, but new sections and all new encounters are there too!
There are moments in the game where I expect the original things to happen, then BOOM! Curve ball right into something way different. Like Spider Monsters when they were never in the game, enemies where they never were, etc. Its blatantly obvious that is in no way, shape, or form a simply cash in on the next gen systems. Its glorious that it has been given this kind of attention, and should set the prime example of how to do a remaster!

Is it on PS4?

I -blam!-ING KNOW RIGHT!? Amazing improvements from all those years ago. My only complaint would be Spartan mode but I just try not to look at it.
-
Ooh, what does it have now? A memorable plot? A decent currency/inventory system? Colour?

Edited by Crypto -PS4-: 8/28/2014 2:35:01 PMWhat platforms were affected? I ran it on my PS3 a few months ago & it was ok, but felt clunky like R3.

That's pretty cool, so they added new encounters and monsters instead of just remastering the graphics?
-
Just downloaded it last night haven't got to play it yet. I'm glad to hear it's good, now I know what to expect when I get home.
-
Loving it as well. Great game, and now even better with its true potential. Glory to Khan!
-
I gotta wait till the 4th of September to play :(
-
Is it still a buggy mess? I'm thinking of downloading Last Light.

All I remember was that was the most linear boring shit game I've ever played. You just walk around in a linear path talking to shit Commies I dont give a shit about. The combat is also shit scripted encounters and a lot of shit stay and defend segments. I quit once I got to a shitty linear vehicle segment I literally couldnt complete in any way because I didn't have enough ammo.

I wish they'd kept the story faithful to the book.
-
Still no FOV slider.

Yes it is so much better. The controls being smooth make it so much easier to immerse myself which means the freaky/ scary & tense parts are that much more impactful. Can't wait to move right into Last Light afterwards as that is one of my all time favorite games.

Im glad they put the enhanced stealth system form Last light in there, stealth is now a viable option. I remember originally the guards could see you from like 400 yards in the pitch black. Im currently playing on Ranger Hardcore, never done it before and Im having a blast. I wish they would have improved the facial animations though they still look kinda bad.

Edited by Lord of Admirals: 8/28/2014 1:54:53 AMDid they actually change that much? I'm only at the Front Line and everything's been the same so far (other than the absolutely stunning graphical upgrade and minor game play changes.).

I'll be getting it for the first time when I get my PC set up

Questions Should I get it? How scaryis it? from lol - 2spooky4me? Where is my Guacamelee review?!
