Thats just fùcking stupid! Why make one game's preorder content something for another game?!?!?! What the hell is going on with the gaming industry! If i buy this game i want something for THIS GAME, not a totally different one. Jesus christ.

There are tons of games that get special things based on if you played other games, like in Mass Effect 3 how you could have a battlefield style character if you played bf3, or in battleblock theater how you could play as alien homnid or one of the knights from castle crashers if you had played one of those games, this is pretty similar to that concept. It's just a small gimmick for a slight incentive.
-
No no no. That is still giving you something for the game you bought. What i'm saying is that it's giving you something for a game that you have to buy seperately. To me, it is waaaay different and just doesn't seem logical

Edited by ManBearPigIets: 8/28/2014 2:24:00 AMI see it the same. If I bought and played battlefield 3, it gave me armor in mass effect. If I pre order call of duty aw, it gave me a color in destiny. The one that involves a full purchase (the ones I've mentioned) are ones you have to buy separately, all you have to do for the call of duty one is pre order it you don't even have to commit to the purchase.
-
You do realize Activision is involved in both these games right?
-
Duh. They're contribution in the games has nothing to do with what i'm talking about. It's the action that annoys me
-
Fair enough.
-
COD is starting a downhill spiral and they're trying to piggyback off Destiny's success.
-
Are they really??? Man i can't to see it finally crash and burn!
-
Well..if you want to call it a downhill spiral. The last game sold like 6 or 7 million less units than the previous. And I think quite a few less people playing consistently than at release.

Edited by ManBearPigIets: 8/28/2014 12:57:38 AMPre order, get code, cancel pre order.
-
You cancel preorder, they cancel code
-
Edited by ManBearPigIets: 8/28/2014 1:53:06 AMMarketplace codes don't work like that, at least not on xbox. I've done it tons of times before, sometimes they will even just print off the code for you if you ask without even making you preorder.
-
Just don't go get the game. Let it go after redeeming the code. Gamestop will let you apply unused reserve credit to another game if you ask them. They did that when I failed to buy infamous second son for destiny.
-
But what if you can't redeem the code until the cod game is released?

Well, COD pre orders have advantages for cod... Just like Destiny pre orders have advantages for Destiny... This is just an added bonus since both are linked to Activision
-
That's Activision for you....
-
Call down, it's one exclusive...
