The Pokemon Company has just revealed Pokken Tournament, a new fighting game starring its infamous 'mon and being developed by Bandai Namco's Tekken team.
The announcement of the unlikely bedfellows has been teased for some time, with Nintendo promising a "shocking" announcement for today. It's safe to say this fits the bill. The lead producers of Tekken and Souls Salibur, Katsuhiro Harada and Masaaki Hoshino respectively are both working on the project.
At the moment, there's no news of a Western release or even if the brawler is set to arrive on consoles in Japan. It's currently planned for arcade machines, with the initial information being pretty sparse. From what we've been able to gather, however, it's aimed at a wide and casual audience, though aspects will make sure those looking for something hardcore should have something to look forward to.
Pokken Tournament isn't arriving in Japan arcades until next year.
Well this is random, discuss

How many pokemon are in the game? or how many fighting type pokemons
-
Even though I don't own a WiiU, this is pretty awesome. Now get to work on Tekken x Street Fighter already!
-
Finally the game we been dreaming of since we were 10
-
It better have -blam!-ing Garchomp.
-

Fully expect this to come to the Wii U later. For now, I'm just like 'what is up with that name?' I get what they did, but...eww.

It was hinted at last year I think? There was a screenshot of Lucario fighting Blaziken in like a city square type deal. I demand Nintendo release this on home console in the US. They cannot limit this to Japanese Arcades

Also! If you have Twitter, follow @pokken_official and tweet with the hashtag #ポッ拳 along with the name of the pokemon you want in the game! Personally, I want Mawile in this game.
-
It's going to be like that one Dragon Ball Battle Royal game... The one that never made it out of Japan. (-_- ' )

Makes sense, Namco is just finishing up helping Nintendo with Smash Bros.
