I'm glad it happened. My best friend has a ps3 and 360, but he only plays PS because he's to lazy to pay for gold. He's now on his Xbox, I've been dying to -blam!-ing talk to him.

To explain what happened, a group calling themselves lizard squad are performing a DDoS attack on Sony's servers. Essentially, without being technical, this is where they use a network of computers to repeatedly send fake requests to the servers, and they are sending so many requests it slows down and can shut off the servers, ruining everyone's connections. PSN was down for a bit this morning (according to others but I wasn't on so I don't know). It now is performing fine except that the store is down for maintenance. Xbox fanboys are using this to take shots at Sony, but it now appears that a subgroup of lizard squad is doing the same to xbox live and some people are being booted off. It's unclear the extent on live but it's still developing and on twitter the group says they'll be back after they "recharge."
