Give them reasons why they're wrong. They thought it was all around the best Halo. Campaign, and multiplayer.
-
It is a very excellent game, but they obviously didn't play Halo 3 or played it incorrectly.
-
Reach is, overall, my favorite Halo game. I enjoyed H2's multiplayer more and ODST's campaign more but Reach comes in 2nd for me in both categories. I wish we would have seen more invasion. I guess the population wasn't really there.
-
It's good in the fact that there is a ton of content. It's got a decent sized campaign, lots of firefight, custom games, great forge and plenty of multiplayer playlists. The real problem is the quality. Terribly slow kill times, terrible maps, boring campaign, repetitive forge world. It's not a bad game, and I can see why some might like it but other Halos have better stories and mechanics.
-
If you can't make a reason then obviously you probably don't hate it and follow the bandwagon on hating it.
-
Reach had a Campaign?
-
Reach had Invasion. Every other argument is invalid.
-
Your friends are stupid. What other halos have they played?
-
It's a fun game. I still have fun playing MMing. Tbaggin' newbs in my Wraith since 2010. If you bitch about armor lock, it just means you aren't skilled enough to counter it.

Edited by Tartan 118: 8/21/2014 11:12:15 AMI've written this so many times now... Dull, human-focused, military-themed. Washed-out colour pallet. No plot until the last two missions. More sensible (i.e. boring) base player traits. Unbalanced sandbox. Only 2 Invasion maps at launch. Voting in Matchmaking. Bloom. Forge World lacked an enormous, flat, open area (a la Sandbox) Paper-mache (?) vehicles. Not the best music. Hard to make Forge variants work with different gametypes. I'm sure there's some more stuff, but I can't think of it right now.
-
The biggest problems were bloom, armour abilities, jump height and movement speed. Everything else was spot-on, IMO. Luckily, all that can be fixed in Custom Games. Plot-line sucked, storytelling was decent. Still has more longevity than any other Halo game to date.
-
I think Reach was the best! Right up there along with Halo 3. 2 was cool, 1 is for game hipsters and halo fans. 4 was crap. I don't care about Spartan Assault, ODST or Halo Wars. Those were spinoff types.
-
Stupid yutes! Oh I'm sorry, Youths!
-
Their opinions! I cannot bear it!
-
It is the best. Then Halo 4. The worst is Halo 2.
-
The list below is everything I could think of that was either good or bad in Reach.
Pros of Reach: -Forge and customs were the best in the series so far -Theater -Dat UI -Invasion -Depth of armor customization -Firefight's custom options* -Health and fall damage return -Search filters -Zero bloom no sprint/MLG v7 Cons: -Horrendous maps *coughswordbasecough* -Voting system allowed the same maps to constantly be played -Absolutely terrible DLC support -Canon-breaking campaign -*FF matchmaking was nothing more than a grind for credits, unlike ODST FF, which had an emphasis on pure survival -Bloom -Loadouts (TU FFA Pro was much better though) -Sprint -Slow base movement speed -Armor abilities -Lack of skill-based ranks was a big one-it allowed for rampant quitting with no punishment and let even the worst players get to Inheritor -Vehicles were made of cardboard and duct tape -TU and Vanilla split was ultimately detrimental to the population count -Removal of bleedthrough in TU in the March 2012 update
But if your friends still think Reach is the best Halo, good on them. At least they have the balls to say one of the worst two Halos (Halo 4 is the worst) is their favorite.
-
It's not halo 1-3. But at least it's not 4 which makes it alright.

Edited by ChaosMetalMarty: 8/21/2014 6:53:29 PMStory was fine other than the pillar of autum(which verry few people knew about) bussines and the ivisible magic teleporting covie ships. Custom games and forge were perfect variety in matchmaking Armor Bloom and armor lock while bad were nowhere near as horrible as people act liike they are Health system wasnt so bad either (although there should have been an auto recover setting)
-
Its certainly the most well equipped Halo game in terms of options and customization. Vanilla Reach offers a crap ton of stuff to players.
-
Edited by BaconShelf: 8/21/2014 9:11:24 PMForge and customs? Absolutely. Matchmaking? Eh. Campaign gameplay? Fair enough. Campaign story? Lolno. Misc stuff (Armour, menus etc)? Absolutely.

Edited by i5O3: 8/21/2014 6:59:30 AMDisagree with the campaign being the best, and the multiplayer is a matter of preference. The forge is the best of any halo, and the theatre may be the best as well. Halo Reach is my favorite, and I cannot help you. :( Also, Reach had my favorite visuals and armor customization.

Your friends are right.

Edited by Tu Chocolate Caliente: 8/21/2014 7:28:20 AMOpinion Campaign: Tie between Halo CE and Halo 4 Matchmaking: Halo 2 Custom games: Halo 3 Forge: Halo Reach Theater: tie between Halo 3 and halo Reach Armor customation: Halo Reach Maps: Halo 2

It had the best forge in the series. It also had the best armor customization. It was a much more gritty Halo, and I liked that.
-
Did they play Halo 2?
-
Who cares, they like Reach. How does this affect your way of life in any way at all. It's their opinion.
