Reach is entirely canon. It works. It does nudge one or two events out of the way, but it works, thanks to 343i's periphery canon.

Yup. Just to clarify, what Bungie supplied us with didn't make any sense. I mean, you had Rooster Teeth coming up with their own timeline to try and explain how the game works. Anyway though, that's in the past, I still dislike Reach's story, but it does make sense.

Yes they do, they say it is a disc with recreated events. The book has an omnipotent POW though.

The events of the game are still canon. You can pretend it isn't, but when Halo lore starts circling back around and connecting to Reach's story, you'll be sitting there confused as hell.
