Who's taking a vacation just to play Destiny?
In Japan Dragon Quest has become a cultural game so much that the last time it was released on a weekday it had an economic impact to where students and workers not showing up to where they need to be. The government had to ask the company to move future releases to weekends.... What are your plans?
Edit 1: Now that we are closer to launch who's changed their plans or are following through with it?

Yeah baby first 2 days then back in for a day and half before the weekend

Got the 9th to the 14 off woot for a work week full of destiny

We work 14 hour shifts at my place and the week is sunday to monday so i do sunday and monday then the following saturday, no paid holiday taken :)

Im on vacation from the 5th to the 15th. Going charter fishing and beach/hotel 6,7,8 back home for destiny Tuesday morning. Ill pick up my copy on the way back from my trip. No midnight release for me but thats okay.

Preordered limited edition... Working on 9th & 10th, but taken 11th & 12th off work to have a long weekend of Destiny!

1 ReplyI have also taken a week of vacation off from work (first time Ive EVER done this for a game) and really looking forward to catching up with old friends here as well as old army buddies that have been since sent back home to the states.

2 RepliesI threw an axe at my boss, challenging him to a duel. It cleaved his assistants head off, due to my raw power. He picked up his hand axe and round shield, bearing the insignia of the stone spearhead. I was ready, my shield out with my house insignia the raven, eager to carry his soul to Hel. He laughed as my axe was wedged a foot deep into his office wall, built of concrete and steel. He charged at me, foam spitting from his mouth, screaming runes of destruction. In my shield hand, my bearded axe gripped firmly, concealed from his sight. I waited until he was upon me, he leaped from his desk, in a powerful midair swing. I used all of my might in a backhanded shield bash against his feeble right handed attack. For I am left handed and not many right handed men train against one who is left handed, yet the left always face the right. His arm and axe splintered, bone, wood, steel and blood splattered against my shield. His body span around from my might, reversing the shift of his weight with such force, his spine cracked. With equal speed and force, I let my mighty bearded axe slip forward from behind its protective scale and swung inward to my right. It bit hard into his chest, sprays of arterial fluid rained as he gasped his final words... See you on the 15th, enjoy your paid time off... Toughest man I have faced yet, for he survived the battle and promoted me. True story.

Don't need to take a vacation, I'm a university student, but expect my class attendance to go down for about a week or so!

Run my company until the end of the week. Then, if I decide to buy the game I'll get it that weekend or following weekend and possibly play it a bit in between business trips.

I had vacation planned, for the week, then my back went out at work, lol sucks to be hurt but I'll be occupied for the whole first week of launch :)

3 RepliesWish I could, but I have to save my PTO for my wedding in November. Taking 3 solid weeks off. It's basically the only time off I'm taking for a long time. If I wasn't getting married, though... I'd probably take at least 2 days.

Last year I didn't use all my vacation. I'm not the type to really take days off. So this year I decided to splurge. Destiny hits halfway between my Birthday and My girlfriends. And then I have 4 days of vacation in there.

I'm considering it... and if I don't take some vacation days for destiny I might just use a couple at the launch of dragon age inquisition...
