Will absolutely trump Destiny. Not only in scale but, longevity.
For those who don't know about the game here's a list of things they've discussed:
1) Craft.
2) Upgrade your ship so you can go to hyperspace.
3) Trade materials and resources to trading outposts.
4) Attack freighters or help them ward off attackers.
5) Befriend different factions through your actions or make enemies.
6) Ground and space combat all while enjoying an amazing sandbox of planets that are all unique.
7) You could spend one second on every planet and it would still take you billions of years to see the game.
Not to mention things they haven't discussed
Some of you really need to learn to read tags. Thanks for the tears.

7) You could spend one second on every planet and it would still take you billions of years to see the game. Not to mention things they haven't discussed
That's obvious bullsh.t. Like how mass effect 3 was supposed to have a variety of unique endings, and instead we got three.

After seeing how humble the dev guy demonstrating the game at E3 was, I hope it does extremely well.
-
It does look really cool, fingers crossed it comes to xbone. That being lot of games are amazing until you play them. I hope, it's great but rigjt now all we have are empty promises of what it is.

Edited by Oak_Khan: 8/18/2014 9:50:09 PMSo wait, can you form factions in the game? I heard you will never meet anyone twice in that game. So apparently I can't play with my online friends or people I meet there......Nice. Procedurally generated world eh? So this one world is the exact same as the one I discovered 2 weeks ago, except on this planet instead of a red desert planet it is a yellow one, WHAAAAAAT!!!!!! Ok so so I warp between planets or I can fly through the completely empty expanse of space between them, maybe see a stray asteroid, maybe a ship zooms past me. The joy of space travel..... I mean I'm not gonna say it's a bad game base on the little info we have, but I haven't seen anything groundbreaking from it.

Edited by Grunty: 8/18/2014 5:06:49 PMToo bad the post got moved :/
But it is going to be ALOT better than destiny, this game seems like a true MMO RPG which Destiny really isn't. I think there are guns in No Man's Sky, right ?
-
Did the topic get moved?
-
Evrything trumps Density
-
#destiny you will get some real catches
i cant wait for no man's sly also
-
#gaming
-
We in the Flood don't give a shit.
-
apples and oranges....cant compare the two
-
Is this a real game? It sounds epic.
-
No Man's Sky Looks pretty, but I'm afraid that's all it has going for it. Now that will get it far, but currently I haven't seen anything about it that's interesting enough for me to buy it
-
1. #gaming 2. You make some solid points
-
Not wanting to rain on your parade, but except for the ground combat the description could fit Spore. Most of the content is also in Mass Effect. Good luck and much success to you in playing the game. I have chosen to seek my Destiny.
-
Edited by Rater: 8/18/2014 3:05:40 PMWelp, thanks, derp ass mod. Could've at least put it in #gaming.
-
I wanna contribute just cause you made that other thread saying not to
-
Edited by DEZARATH: 8/18/2014 3:00:15 PMWouldn't this be in #gaming rather than #Offtopic? So much more potential.
-
You'll have a better argument if you compared No Man's Sky to Freelancer or even better Eve Online.
-
You're either a bad troll or an idiot. Go to the nms forums to tell them how everyone here is so stupid and mean to you.
-
I really like No Man's Sky, and of course I'm going to buy it, but ... Destiny has a special place in my hearth. I love the Story and Lore of Destiny. No Man's Sky just doesn't offer you that. Your ultimate goal, reach the center of the Galaxy. But I like the fact that the game world is infinite, planets generated every new seconds.
-
It does look great honestly I really hope they have it though we're you can join your buddies seamlessly kinda like destiny that way me and my friends can raid ships and blow everything up...I can already tell I'm going to be a dick in no man's sky
-
Edited by Dead Mara Sov: 8/18/2014 2:48:03 PMthere are 31,536,000 seconds in 1 year. 31,536,000,000,000,000 seconds in a billion years. This leaves the rest of your post in question. Link a source
-
Apparently, you buy a new ship, not upgrade your current one.
-
Troll post is pretty obvious but whatever. I took a look at No Man's Sky yesterday. Didn't appeal to me but if thats the game you want to play, go for it.
-
Mehstiny pretty much blown up on the launchpad at this point
