I've heard that raids will have checkpoints after every boss. What I'm wondering is, when you quit a raid after a checkpoint and then continue it later on, do you have to have the same people you originally did it with? Or can you do it with new people?
Most games that have a raid mode, have this option. Basically after u kill boss x or z. All mobs leading up to said boss would not respawn. Yes. The same ppl are recquired to continue. You cannot join a raid mid session.
As for how these mechanics will work in Destiny. We dont know 100% yet. But all signs point to me being right on this.

If you didn't have to check back in with the existing team people would exploit this by saving right before the last boss, get their friend who doesn't have any "great" gear & sign back in. If they do check point saves I'll be very happy as I was lead to believe you had to sit trough hours of gaming till the end.
