.....I am slightly confused as to where it belongs actually, it spits out some titles which don't look all that bad, but can you say that it is on level to the PS4 and Xbone? (thats saying a lot)
But regardless, what do 'U' name and categories this system as?

If you are stronger than your brother/sister are you suddenly in a different generation? No you're not. Because the definition of the word is based around order of succession not strength.

Honestly, I consider it a bit of both. Nintendo's consoles never really try to compete heavily like the Xbox and PlayStation, they usually are in a league all their own. Their systems are geared more towards families, not pro and MLG ones.

Mid gen
-
Current gen.
-
I don't even consider Nintendo a gaming company anymore, all they've been doing is re-hashing games. That and nothing they've produced in the last 5 years has interested me
-
Its current gen. Console generation refers to when a console launches and has absolutely nothing to do with the hardware inside of it. If we considered hardware a factor then even the PS4 and Xbox One are last gen.
-
Last gen
-
Current gen.
-
Well technology-wise they are last. But timeline wise they are current.
-
I'd go with current Nintendo Generation, they're always on a different timeline anyway.
-
Current
-
Neither, it's just an irrelevant piece of shit really.
-
Generation has nothing to do with power
-
It belongs with Xbone and PS4
-
Current, obviously.
-
It's the same Generation as the PS4 and Xbone. The hardware being weaker has nothing to do with which generation it belongs to.

WiiU is an inbetweener. It's like the Turbo Graphx-16 which wasn't a true 16-bit console (it was a dual 8-bit), or the Sega Dreamcast which fell between a PS1 and PS2 in terms of specs and timing.
