I was about 11at the time. It was a hot summer day, +28 degrees Celsius. Me and a couple of friends decide to swim in a nearby lake.
My friends walk into the water and then swim away. I get undressed and start walking into the water. The lakebed consists of large oval stones.
I keep walking and then suddenly feel extreme pain in my left heel. I look down and notice a lot of blood around my left foot. I lift it out of the water to get a loot and see a long piece of glass sticking out of my heel. I immediately pull it out (there was about 3cm of glass in my heel). I'm bleeding like crazy. My friends are swimming and then notice me on the shore staring at my foot. One of them swims ashore and sees what happened. By pure luck, he had some band aids in his backpack.
The next day my doctor confirmed that there was no glass left in my heel. I could not stomp or land hard on my left foot for the next 2 years because I could still feel pain in it.
