Upon playing the Beta and having a party every day, there were very little issues I actually cared about besides this one.
For those who are unaware what drift guard is, it is essentially very slight movements on the thumbsticks being negated from having any input. Now. The problem with Destiny is that the drift guard is relatively high and aiming down the sights feels like there is a massive deadzone in the controller in which no precise movements can be made. You may have probably noticed when trying to slightly adjust from the recoil of fast firing weapons that precision inputs have no affect on your aim.
What that means is that you can't make any small adjustments to your thumbsticks and honestly makes the game harder to play for everybody. Anybody have that old trusty controller that spins/moves slightly when you're not touching it? That's what drift guard prevents, but it also negates controller input if it doesn't cross a certain threshold. This makes it harder to aim and move as desired since it feels so high in the game.
I'm not saying remove it from the game entirely since it does not bother most people, but I can vouch for I think many players when I say that there should be the option to remove this drift guard. Titanfall has this setup and the option works well for people who want it and people who don't.
I'd rather not see posts saying "get over it", because this is beneficial for players who wish to be more accurate since the drift guard is so high in Destiny and it does not hinder other players in any way by adding in the option to remove it. Drift guard makes close range battles difficult to react in quickly and precise distant shots harder to accomplish both in PvE and PvP. I am aware that this game is not intended to be super competitive, but this is a concern for the entire game, mainly for those who do not want restrictions on their skills.
The game will be played as it did in the Beta, but with an added option that gives players the option to be more accurate at the risk of overcompensating with their aim. Just to be clear, this is requesting the OPTION to remove drift guard in controller/sensitivity options. This is NOT a request to remove aim-assist that all FPS have, just the ability to move and look more freely.

I can agree a feature like this would be nice, but the drift guard adjustments is a feature that effects game balance. For one, Titanfall is a highly competitive game. It was designed that way from the beginning. It only has PVP... They actually went so far as getting together with Microsoft and having controller updates just for this game. The drift option may have been part of this to allow access. Destiny on the other hand is not a highly competitive shooter, and was not intended as such. It was designed as a FPS/RPG with a dash of MMO. I feel the game is designed to go adventuring and exploring and saving the galaxy! Also I don't think the game is so grounded in to reality like Titanfall. It's not ment to be super precise. It's meant to be a well rounded fun game to play. While a feature as that would be nice, it would take time to implement. As I've said, it "will" effect game balance, and would take a lot of time to rebalance the game. Maybe something like this can be later introduced into the game threw a patch, but only time will tell. Good luck on your endeavor! ;)
