I'd like to be able to meet people by walking up to them and saying hey. Not fiddling with teams and friends lists and chat boxes, etc. I'd like to share laughter or thanks with strangers in the moment, not after the fact. It would be pretty easy to just turn this setting off if you're not interested, or mute specific people if they're being obnoxious. What do you think? Share your idea's here and in a bunch of other threads so it spreads like wildfire and bungie does something about it before launch!

I would like it but I see the problem with it too I thought maybe add a mute button or something but if everyone just mutes then it defeats the purpose

Screens! We need screens in the tower that show crucible matches, sparrow races, and enemy information. Yes I agree as well to the idea of prox chat of course with the feature of toggling it on or off. (As well show us who has it turned off). This way we would know to send a message instead yelling through the mic. Let's get them on this!
-
yes please.
-
We all want it and they know it.

Proximity would be great. It was so weird playing the beta and hearing one speaking to each other. I felt it kind of took away from the multi-play aspect of the game. If an Fable 2 and 3 can do it, I see why Destiny can't. If some one is talking trash or just broad casting static you could just go to the roster menu that shows who is playing on that current map and mute the offender.
-
They should just have something in settings to have proximity chat on or off.
-
Bring this up all over the forums so others will start talking about it too! It will increase the chances of Bungie seeing it!

That would be fun to see something really funny with a bunch of strangers and everyone just busting out laughing. Hell yea, I want proximity chat!
-
I would love this, it would make the game feel so much smoother :)

This Destiny gets evryone on Earth and dumps them all into the game from all over the plannet. Think about game chat where everyone is speaking there own language and no one can understand anyone else. gta 5 suffers a lot from this daiblo 3 dose too.
-
This would be nice. I liked going around and helping others when they looked like they were in trouble. However, not being able to talk to them while helping them other than joining their fireteam was not the best, especially if they were already in a three man team. Some people were trying to invite me when they were full but I could not talk to them at all other than messages through psn. Plus, it would nice to do a public event and have others say someth... anything when a new wave of enemies appear out of nowhere. But we will find out when we get to September 9 or at least an update in the near future after that will implement this. Clan: Nova Frost [Iced]

You and another person should be able to hit like R3 and then chat with each other. That way it would be mutual.
-
Well Deej better see this, because this could seriously help
-
This needs to be put in the game plz DeeJ make it happen

Edited by Shadow: 8/10/2014 12:57:26 AMI would love this but apparently bungie doesnt know what mute, blacklist, report, private chat, or chat rooms is. They judt rather ignore this key property completely I mean how boring is it to not get trolled? Its pretty fun especially when the troll is actually funny or actually making you mad.
-
I like the idea. Mute, blacklist, report. Must be included. With voice there is no history. If you report it's your word against the abuser. I would ask Bungie to keep a record of reports. If a foul mouthed, abusive player keeps getting reported. They must be removed from the game. Without that, it's a free for all. We need to communicate.

Proximity chat would be awesome! It would be awesome to be able to jump into a fight and suddenly be coordinating with a random player who you decided to help. However, I understand there are some players who would rather not listen to other players, and that there are some players who abuse proximity by screaming in the mics. Honestly though, the best fix for this though is to: A) Have an option in the Settings to toggle the Proximity chat to 1) Everyone 2) Friends Only 3) Off Or B) Have a mic sensor that will automatically mute your mice if it detects high levels coming from your mic. I would prefer the first one myself, but I agree, it can be a hassle sometimes. Lets hope Bungie already has something planned for that.

Defiance did it. Yes. That OTHER mmo/fps hybrid game that was mediocre at best.
-
I love proximity chat games with the ability to mute some people
-
-
I'm down for all chat pvp team ,proximity on by default as long as I can turn them off individually . I like team pvp chat and fire team chat but not proximity.
-
Absolutely. Simple enough to just have a mute button so no one interrupts your experience, and be able to permanently block trolls. I don't know why proximity voice isn't a thing in more games. When Bungie brought this to Halo 2 on Xbox Live it was brilliant.

Yes. Wanted.

Yes we need it.
