........... That modding your Honda Civic isn't cool? I mean, I like (almost) any modded car, but these idiot kids are pure posers who spend their McDonalds paychecks getting crap mods. So far today I've seen one with the worst paint job I've ever seen along with wheel camber so deep I really thought that he was trying to make a hover car. Then I saw one with a $10 spoiler BOLTED into the trunk. When will they learn?

I owned a 2002 350Z. Had it for 2 years before it was impounded. I was deep in the New York City racing scene at the time...had been since 2000, a year before it got "cool" thanks to the Fast & Furious. Anyway, I bought it new (2002 was the 1st year the car was manufactured after all) for $24,355. I dropped an addition $30K into it in aftermarket parts. Race tuned suspension, turbo kit, transmission, the works. I'd run down the list of parts, but this was well over 10 years ago. My point is, my car was a true beast. Matte black paint job with sexy frost white rims. Super low profile. Custom body kit. A real beauty of a car. Compared to some of the clown cars I see these days, my Z was freakin' royalty. And if you're wondering how I it impounded...most of the racing in the 5 Boroughs of NYC took place in area of my native The Bronx called Hunts Point. I was on my way home from meeting some of my car club friends and I wasn't paying attention to the speedometer. I get to where Hunts Point ends and East Tremont Ave. starts, near the 6 Train and I see sirens behind me. Cop walks up and taps my window. He doesn't even say anything, he just holds up the radar gun. 93mph. Speed limit on NYC municipal streets is 30. Yea...pretty much boned at that point. Car impounded, license suspended for 8 years and I barely avoided jail time because the only thing street legal on it was the Nissan logo on the hood. Still have a picture of my baby. I have no idea what happened to it. Either it was stripped down and sold at auction or for parts. And I've since got my license back (in 2012) and am back on the road...just a lot slower now...lol.
