I would like to clarify something to people using Urk's quote as an argument that the size of the game is much larger. Here is most of it, containing the important bits. Read it very carefully...
"Destiny's pretty big," he countered. "It's the biggest game we've ever made, by far, and we're sort of known for making games you can play for months, years, and even decades if you're a little bit... dedicated.
"With Destiny, we're looking to exceed what we've done before, not just in terms of scale - the Moon is our smallest destination - but in terms of scope and breadth of activities. That's true for day one, as you expect, but it also means we want Destiny to have super long legs." - Urk
Now that you've read it, Note that he is not talking solely about the size of the destinations - in fact, he pretty much dodges giving any actual information beyond the moon being the smallest zone. He's referring to the idea of a game, which is indeed a lot larger than any other game they have thought up. Map-size wise though, we still have no actual info on what the full size of the zones will be. As someone who prefers PvE over PvP, Especially Geographic Exploration (not so much urban exploration, like tunnel and bunker networks), this is becoming more and more concerning that we have not been given a direct answer to this question.
The Question: Is there more to explore on the Cosmodrome Geographically, Not tunnels, not Buildings, but landscapes?
As far as I can tell there has been no direct answer from any of the developers. If someone DOES have an answer to this question from the devs somewhere, then please feel free to let me know.
And finally, to clarify, I am not hating on this game or any of the people behind it. It is a glorious game and I think it will provide a lot of fun for me and my friends who I've met during the alpha/beta. I am simply looking for some clarification to the concerns I have as a fan that is a direct answer, not a beat-around-the-bush one.
