How do shades work? Like if I have a piece of armor or a weapon and think "wow, this would look really cool yellow" or something, could I use a shade to do that?

Essentially, yes. Each shade has a number ("Battleworn Blue I") that will shade anything with that number (you find the number in the upgrade menu. Almost all beta gear was Shade I). If you wanted just the helmet to be yellow and the rest to be a black shade you would need a spare helmet. You apply equip the yellow, everything you are wearing turns yellow, you switch the yellow helmet with a dummy helmet, you equip black shader, everything turns black, you then equip the yellow helmet. You now have a yellow helmet and black gear.

Edited by Vausser: 8/8/2014 5:47:12 PMThis sounds awesome! Thank you for posting. Seriously though, how do you know this? Oh wait, you learned this in the alpha.

Yup, alpha was a great source for shaders. I wad running New Monarchy Blood Red

Really not a fan of the shaders thing, seems way to over complicated and I'd like too preview the shader before buying it

You were able to preview shaders once you had a shader equipped in the alpha
