I found a video online about tips for crucible, I'll try to find it....
In the video, He says that one does more damage firing from the hip, and there is a damage reduction for ads.
I didn't notice this during game play. I this true?
I can't see why Bungie would have this game mechanic...
There are weapons that give a bonus to damage as perks, however. During crucible none of these bonus's matter because everything is equalized. A level 15 rifle does the same as a level 4 rifle.
however. During IRON BANNER Your weapon and gear matters. This is a rare event that usually only lasts 2 hrs where gear and stats make a difference in conpetitive multiplayer.

I don't think Crucible removes unlocked special abilities: "ads increases effective range", chain of woe, missed shits have a chance of returning ammo to the clip. Tho perks that increase weapon damage are suspended. What I was wondering: is there any difference to damage with ads vs hip fire? (I did have a weapon perk on my Sahara-AR3, 'Focused Fire'.) But in general, without any perks, does ads change the damage, or is it the same as with hip fire? While I'm typing this, it seems absurd that ads would do less damage... but... that's what the guy in the video was saying, so I thought I'd ask...

Crucible does take out unlocked abilities as well. My rocket launcher had the "tri-pod" perk (which adds an extra two rockets to fire without having to reload) but only held one rocket in chamber for Crucible matches.
