Weather!
Destiny needs an epic weather system. We had some sick thunder storms in Southeastern Utah today, and it got me thinking. Wouldn't it be amazing to stalk a patrol of Fallen warriors through the jungles of Venus during a heavy rainstorm? Visibility would be poor, you would be able to see the rain running down your visor. Water would be dripping from the trees and buildings. It would all be very atmospheric, no?
Here's another one. You get caught in a blinding sandstorm on the surface of Mars. You can barely see where you are going, when you stumble upon a Cabal unit taking cover in the shell of an old building. You look at them, they look at you. You then proceed to duke it out while you can barely see one another!
Okay, one last scenario. You are exploring the wilds of Earth at night. A menacing thunderstorm proceeds to roll overhead. It becomes quite dark, to the point where you have to use your Ghost's light and periodic flashes of lightning to keep your bearings. Then, as the wind howls through your cloak, Hive start to pour from every crevice. The once familiar landscape is transformed into a dark shadow of fear and darkness. As you struggle to survive, and are about to overwhelmed, you see another light peek over the crest of the hill. Another Guardian! Together you fend off the relentless enemy and retreat back to the safety of the Tower.
I'm just saying, weather would make familiar landscapes feel new, different, and exciting. Everything would become a hundred times more atmospheric and awesome, leaving players craving another chance to have another epic opportunity. If any one else has a cool weather situation you would like to share, feel free to do so! Let's see how many different ideas we can build up!

I can say with professional certainty this would help Destiny immensely from what I experienced in Assassin's Creed 4 Black Flag, it really does change your emotional mood without you noticing. I would remind everyone though that the beta may not have included anything regarding weather that may be in the full game. A good request though.

3 RepliesOh my god I love that third one Visibility has never been a problem in games, if you have nothing physical between you you can always see them or a name tag It'd be something new to have darkness/rain actually be an issue Maybe they could incorporate flares? Or orbs to place so you can see in a certain area? In a cold night, out hunting far from the tower, cold could be an issue. Visor frosting up Decreased movement Maybe increasing damage as it reaches extremes I really like this BUNGIE PLEASE HEAR US

I've been on these forums since beta and this is one of the first fully approved and encouraged posts I've read. totally have my support. would be gnar. a good thing to hear is this: they've stated that random weather systems are gonna be in the game. I heard it in one of the destiny interviews.. a sandstorm I think was the example so you're dead on there. I'll try to find the source where I heard/read. but could most certainly be part of the game! high hopes! kudos

Gotta live them golden showers man, and Bungie should throw in the proverbial, "Where were you when the shit hit the fan?" In this case it should be raining diarrhea or Hershey Squirts.

I experienced multiple different weather types while playing the same PvP map so they have put it in. It may not be to the extent you are suggesting yet but there's something there.

I don't remember where but I saw somewhere that they were planning or have already included a random weather generator in the full game don't hold me too it. And as for why it wasn't in the beta maybe it wasn't necessary for their tests. But that's just my opinion no need to go spreading it around.

While flying above the earth you can see a lot of the world is covered in storms there is a chance the traveler is protecting the last city and old Russia from major storms.
