Let's say...
You're standing on a dock that sits over a lake.
You see your pet and a stranger drowning, your pet on the left and the stranger on the right. They are both the same distance away from you.
You only have time to save one, so you must choose. There's absolutely no way to save both of them.
So who would you save?

Edited by Gary: 8/5/2014 12:32:17 PMPet. I don't value some random asshole's life over my dog's. Maybe the stranger in question should learn how to swim. "But that's unethical!" I don't care. "What about their family?!" Screw 'em.
-
My pet. I don't know that stranger's history. They could be a serial killer for all I know. xD
-
The stranger.
-
Neither
-
My dog is probably the only one in the whole work that loves me in any significant capacity. Any random person can get -blam!-ed.
-
The stranger. A sense of debt to your species is important.
-
My dog. I don't know the guy, but I'd still be tempted to save the person becuase we all like to think morality matters and we are it's ultimate persona.
-
Edited by Hunter: 8/5/2014 12:23:36 PMThe stranger! There's no way I could save my pet instead of a human being! I mean, I love my pet... And I would miss him a lot, but no way.

Edited by comiclegregblade: 8/5/2014 12:20:04 PMI taught my fish surf with a TM so he's fine il save the stranger
-
Neither, mwhaahahahaha
-
Stranger. #Team people.
-
My pet is a fish so he'll be fine.
-
The stranger, honestly i wouldnt be very sad for that long if my pet died(dont currently have one but i used to) but the stranger's death would change his/her family's lives pretty much forvever. So yeah definetly the stranger.
-
My dog for all I know this stranger could be a criminal or a clown
-
My kitty. The stranger should of atleast learned how to swim. Only reason I would save him/her would be if it was a kid under like 12 that had no time to learn how to swim. Besides my cat can practically run on water why would she be in the water in the first place?
-
The stranger, obviously. What kind of sick -blam!- values the life of a member of another race over that of their own?
-
Defiantly my pet
-
I would save the stranger. Human life is more important
-
Buster. My dog doesnt like water much so for him to have just fallen in without being able to swim to shore.... That person is probably to blame. Plus the person can just hold their breath for to twenty or so seconds itd take for me to chuck my little jack Russell back onto the dock.
-
My dog is literally my top priority. Screw people, dogs are better listeners and they don't question my weirdness.
-
My house cat does not like water so the only reason he'd be out there is if he was forced. And the stranger seems to be coincidentally next to him. Il save my cat, the stranger should have learned how to swim before trying to drown my cat :p
-
Strangers are strange, family is fam
-
My pet turtles would have a priority.. but I'd try to save them both if i could.
-
I did this thread about a year ago. The results were disappointing. I would absolutely save the stranger. Anyone who picks a dog's life over a human is sick and disturbed.
-
Both of them.
