One person links an actual article, one person links wikipedia...

And one just whines about it. Have you even read the sources or did some research for yourself?

I don't believe PS3 sales ever surpassed the 360. But I would find a better source than wikipedia if I needed to back that up. Observations > whining.

Edited by bLango: 8/4/2014 1:04:32 PMI don't get all that hating on Wiki-articles, they're backed up with more sources than the average person would ever read. Its the same as if you would do research for a week, just combined in that article. If there are better sources, the Wiki-article will most likely have a reference on that too.

I take it you are from America, because that is the only region where the 360 had a larger userbase than the PS3. You linked Wikipedia which is a joke. Can you use Wikipedia as a source for anything meaningful, such as research or a paper at a university? The answer is no. Also the PS2 was the highest selling console of ALL TIME, meanwhile the Xbox barely pushed over 20 million units. Don't know how this person thinks that Xbox dominates PS, as it's not even close to PS in terms of sales. It's funny you think that people purchased re PS3 just for Blu Ray. Besides Halo 3 and Gears 1-2, the 360 didn't get shit. The second half of last generation my 360 collected dust.

I'm just replying one more time because of your argument about Wikipedia and university papers. Your argument would apply if this WAS a research or paper for university, but it is not. You can't always rely on it when it comes to science, medicin or something like that, where it took people hundreds of years to gain that information and generally very complex subjects. However, I think we can use it for things like console sales where the Wiki-article itself most likely refers to almost every reliable source.

I could go on there now and edit it to say that the Microsoft 360 sold 1 billion consoles.

Wow, you just made a fool out of yourself. You (and unfortunately many others too) still think this is possible? That was five years ago, if not more. You can't just edit everything you want, there are now more than enough mods that proof-read and check your sources for that information before it gets published. Thanks for making clear you have no idea how Wikipedia works nowadays.

Do yourself a favor, go to Google and read the 100's of articles stating the PS3 outsold the 360. All you're doing is digging a hole, and it's embarrassing how much you care about these sales figures.

If you choose to live with an outdated opinion I won't stop you. I stopped talking and caring about the sales since my first comment. But don't worry, that will be my last response, I don't see much use in responding any longer.

It's ok keep defending your precious console and to the death, but stop spreading misinformation. -blam!-ing fanboys

Calling me a moron doesn't prove it's a fact. Insulting somebody is the first step to losing an agrument. Here you go, a reliable source: http://usingsources.fas.harvard.edu/icb/icb.do?keyword=k70847&pageid=icb.page346376 As I said before, it's not for writing papers, but reliable enough for trivial things like console sale numbers.

Why would you even bring the PS2 and original Xbox into this conversation? It's not even fair to bring them up because PS2 already made a name for itself with the first playstation. Xbox was a brand new console that no one was familiar with.

I was a diehard Halo 1-3 player, but that franchise is all but dead to me. I dropped Microsoft like a hot piece of shit, after that turd called Halo 4 dropped. If Halo 5 isn't amazing then they're in the hurt bag for sure.
-
Not really.. I was also a die hard Halo fan and stopped playing it when Reach and 4 came out that doesn't mean I'm going to stop playing. I had a PS2 before an original Xbox and if it wasn't for my PS2 tray breaking I probably would have never gotten anXbox. I'm glad my PS2 tray did break because I would have never experienced that kind of multiplier environment that on a playstation.
-
Not sure how someone brought ps2 into this but the wiki says "1.52 billion units of software" last time I checked we were talking about xbox360 & ps3 hardware.
-
That's what I'm saying

Once the Xbox 1 slims up and becomes a better console gaming machine and has a more developed library of games, then I'm on board.. Until then time is invested into the ps4
