How long did it take you to download and install the BETA?
It took me about 18 hours!...with 35mbps maybe I had too many things connected to the WiFi. I bought the digital version of Destiny and am contemplating whether to upgrade my services before the launch. How long did it take you?

It took me about 3 & 1/2 hours but it took my friend almost 12 hours. We both have high speed, it just seemed to be the amount of traffic. VtxR - PS3

Under 30 Minutes plus I was watching Netflix and my GF was on the internet. Honestly I read these pages and wonder how many people with crap connections blame Bungie for in game lag..... New Rule no complaining about lag unless you post a picture showing download and upload speed during said lag periods.

90Mbps, I'm guessing it took about 15-30 minutes, don't know for sure because I set the download and went to do something else. Definitely less than 30 minutes though.

7 RepliesI live in Japan. Their internet is ridiculously fast. NO COMPARISON to shitty American Internet speeds. I can download a full 3-hour 1080p HD JAV, in 10-15 min. The beta was downloaded in less than 5 minutes. I started download, opened a beer and got some chips, sat down, started playing. And the price....$19 a month. Thats their slowest speed. Their fastest costs $29.

I had 25mbps down and it took 1.25 hours. You are either in a busy internet traffic area, to many people were using your internet bandwidth or your ISP is throttling you down to about 5mbps. Whatever it is, expect the full version to be 45-50GB in size.

I got cable at 80mbs, it took less time then the Alpha once was able to get onto PSN. It was under 15 minutes after 15 minutes of trying to get into PSN at 3am in the morning.

it all depends on the congestion of the link, possibly moreso than your own internet speed. here on the other side of the planet (NZ) the download took ~50 minutes for me the PS4 version. possibly due to CDN caching but most likely quick-ish since a big portion of the world would have been fast asleep :D

35 mbps is good... I only get 5... 20 is the American average

Edited by Evolution: 8/5/2014 8:12:59 AMYou can download the game on the 7th so even if it does take longer for you it should be complete well in advance. Edit: I can only say this with certainty if you purchased on PS3. Though I see no reason it wouldn't be the same through other consoles.
