Just realised I missed my 10 year birthday post, and probably a few since I last made one...
Anyway, no idea what is going on on this website any more. Everything looks different and I can't recognise any familiar names.
I don't even know if I am making this topic correctly.
And now for the talking point: If I have no interest in Destiny, and feel like Bungie is nothing like it used to be back when I was a regular visitor, what incentive would there be for someone like me (who has been a member for 10 years) to continue visiting?

Well at least you are not dead, new halo should have you at least a lil excited.

Edited by duck: 8/4/2014 11:28:34 PMMany people utilize the reminiscing of birthday threads to politely address the current problems facing the site. I'm glad that you've chosen to forsake subtlety in this case. I might have to revise some of my upcoming 7th year thread. While I agree that the site has lost its gleam, I disagree that it is simply change that has resulted in your lack of interest. By being here for an entire decade, you've seen wave after wave of site changes, both aesthetically and functionally. Yet still, despite these changes, you were an active poster up until recently. The problem lies not with gradual change, but rather the unpleasant truth that Bungie has essentially shot itself in the foot with the more recent site updates. In the beginning of 2013, we witnessed the excitement as Bungie announced their destiny game. Concurrently, they also launched a major overhaul of their website which de-emphasized groups and the traditional forum structure. The beating heart of Bungie.net has always been it's strong Groups and Forums framework. Forums were reinvented as a fusion between the worst attributes of YouTube comments and twitter. Tags and popularity sorting, which were meant to allow topics to be easy to identify, instead caused many threads to be lost or overlooked. Groups saw a considerable reduction in functionality and usability. There is nothing I can say to you that will encourage you to stay here. If your old friends are what you seek, they've become fragmented and scattered. Bungie.net served as an adhesive for a community that normally would not be so collected. Perhaps you're correct, and it's worn with time and change, but no matter the reason, it cannot seem to hold.

Welcome to the ranks, brother. We have quarter Bingo every Wednesday.

Edited by Dooodley: 8/12/2014 11:14:39 PMYour downward spiral has to be labeled as one of the highlights on this site. It's definitely up there with Aracnanos ( I did that on purpose) yelling in private groups.

Come, sit in the dark with the old ones.

It got really old skool in here really fast.

Birthdays become depressing when you start to get old.

Edited by MastaSin: 8/7/2014 5:46:28 AMI feel young with a bunch of oldies. ^^ Also welcome back, you're not going to stay long are you? :P

Mine is combining up thanks for the reminder

That's funny, because I remember you complaining about how you leave Bungie.net for good. Do tell us, former bungie.net moderator, what brings you back?
If I have no interest in Destiny, and feel like Bungie is nothing like it used to be back when I was a regular visitor, what incentive would there be for someone like me (who has been a member for 10 years) to continue visiting?
The community.

Good lord, you came back rather grumpily. I remember you, mostly. Somewhat. I forgot you were still alive until I saw the username. Sounds like you're trying to get the site to appease you. I don't know what you want. You haven't been here in a long time, you stopped making friends, you have no interest in the current game being produced and appear to show no interest in the community still present. Happy anniversary though.

Who are you again?
-
Loving the moment when you walk in a thread full of nostalgia. Haven't seen some of you guys around in a while.
-
The booze?
-
How do I post?
-
If you're leaving can I have your account?
-
Wow, I didn't expect all these responses! After my post the other day I came across Halo Master Chief Edition! Wow... Now that's exciting. I might have to get an Xbox One one day and might see some of you online. Peace :)

Hi Skibur! The Mythics are still around but something in the site re-wrote history and now Halo53 was the founder. You should find a time machine to go on a wacky adventure with Jessica and Anelf in order to correct this horrible dystopian future we now find ourselves in.

That shiny red badge is worth it's weight in gold, you know.
-
Who the hell are you? Who the hell am I?

I guess the only incentive to come back, now and then, would be to chat up with the old users you're familiar with.
