•Option to disable aim assist. (Many gamers prefer not to use this type of aim assist)
•Separate slider for ADS sensitivity. (needed when you turn AA off.)
•Option to disable aim acceleration. (not the same thing as aim assist. makes your aiming slow.)

•Option to disable drift control (same reason as above)
•Hitbox for AA can be smaller than hitbox for hitscan
And who the hell uses autolook centering anyways?

I can see it now: people that lose in the crucible no longer use lag as an excuse, but "aim assist noobs".
-
I agree with every thing in this thread. Even the •s.
-
I tried autolook centering, just to see what it did. That lasted literally a little under a minute then I turned it off. Totally agree on the option to turn off aim assist. Took me longer than it should have to acquire a target, then just as I was about to drop a Knight, aim assist would "helpfully" re-target me to the Dreg that happened to cross my line of fire.

Bump (please donthate)

Such a shame they haven't addressed this...
-
I'm glad I'm not the only one who noticed the aim assist, and the lack of an off switch for it. I would definitely like to be able shut that off...

Edited by Sapphire Zebra: 9/16/2014 5:28:48 AMAim assist should NEVER be in a competitive game. EVER. Kind of just defeats the whole competitive point. I'm wonderful at aiming. However, you add the "snap" effect with an aim assist, and suddenly where I'm trying to aim is past because it snapped while I was dragging the reticle. It's dumb. Then you get to the aim acceleration, where I know it's going to slow down my aiming seemingly at random, so I try to adjust for that, and end up aiming past the target or just before. If people can't learn how to aim without an assist, then they should play without one so they can. It's ridiculous how games keep catering to people who think they need an aim assist. At the very least, put an option to turn it off. Go a step further, and include separate game modes where aim assist is off for everyone in that playlist or server. I had a similar issue with one of the Call of Dutys (might be a different game, but pretty sure it was CoD), where you could literally just sit holding no buttons, and if an enemy ran NEAR the center of your sights, the game would try to "correct" the aiming that you weren't even doing.

I wish I could bump this a million times and highlight it, and send it to Bungie in a bright pink envelope titled (IMMEDIATELY) I want to play Destiny, but I am patiently waiting for the addition of a function to disable Aim-Assist
-
Bump!
-
you are so right! I hate this thing too. Because of the enemy that just jog by and i aim at the wrong kind.. or even because of the lag if i would like to turn around! By the way, this game is much more amazing then counter strike! And because of the same Hardware it feels much more fair then other games. Just the onlinegame Timelag is a really bad thing. I think an option like this will not happen just because there are some Guns and Arms that have the Skill "increase faster Aiming" or "Shot if you just touch the Trigger". Disabling the damn Aiming mechanism would improve your gameplay to much, because the game think it is a game for the players to correct this. But i would love to disable it. And if the Gunfire need to aim a little in the future direction where your enemy will move on. Actually its like a Joke. Yes.. the game is really amazing at whole .
-
Aim in this game is terrible! Try to do a full circle, you just wont be able to...
-
Yes yes! Screw the Damn aim assist. It sis me up so much dammit. Please give me the option to turn it off please bungie.
-
Auto-centering is used by people who get sick sometimes.

I have nothing against these options, but I have to say as someone who always turns off auto-aim, I didn't even realise Destiny had it. They did a damn good job of covering it up.
-
Agreed! We want to use our skills 100% no help. ^_^
-
Agreed! Lost count of the times I was setting up a shot only to have it track off when and enemy jogs by!
-
Totally agree.

-
You get a potato chip!
-
I h8 it coz of the quickscopers ruining the teams and the scout rifles are too strong with aim assist the idea of them is mid range fighting not get up close and use auto aim to basicly temporary lock on. No to the off option yes to none at all this game doesnt need it.
-
agreed, i hate when you are shooting at someone and you have them damn near dead and somone cuts across and aim assist takes me off target and i dont kill either of them, its frustrating sometimes
-
Agreed.
-
I see the frustration. Aim assist -blam!-ed me over a few times esp when enemies would cross paths. My gun didn't know who to shoot whilst I was shooting at them. I just hope that If they do remove that feature then it won't be as bad as not having it in cod.
-
Yes please. Or maybe they could at least turn it off for the vanguard crucible.

Edited by twerle: 8/2/2014 1:21:19 PMI totally agree, I wish alot of games had this option. using the hand cannon or any precision weapon in cluster of enemies where someone running in front of you can pull your shot off target is really frustrating, it's awkward feeling like you have to work around something meant to assist you in game, maybe it's just a personal preference but having the option to disable aim assist would be wonderful.
