What does this mean? (Curious civillian)

Green=Marines Blue=Navy Depending on your rate/station, you will work with more of one than the other. A basic way of putting it I guess is you could be an MA on a Marine base, or a Naval station. I was on an LSD so I got the best, and worst, of both worlds.
